    • Angels send Davis Daniel to minors
Angels optioned RHP Davis Daniel to Triple-A Salt Lake

Advice: Daniel did not throw an inning during his brief time with the Angels at the MLB level. He will return to a 5.89 ERA, 1.61 WHIP, and a 35/11 K/BB ratio across 36 2/3 innings at Triple-A. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago
    • Angels send Niko Goodrum to minors
Angels optioned INF/OF Niko Goodrum to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Advice: Goodrum played in four games for the Angels, going 0-for-13 with four strikeouts and two walks. With Luis Rengifo coming off the IL, Goodrum will head to the minors to provide the organization with valuable positional depth. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
    • Angels activate Luis Rengifo from IL
Angels activated Luis Rengifo (viral infection) from the injured list.

Advice: The Angels tried to keep Rengifo on the active roster, but after he missed five games, they decided to put him on the IL last Thursday. A week later, he’s returning to the fold and should likely remain an everyday player for the Angels given how banged up their lineup is. Niko Goodrum was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. • Optioned to Salt Lake
The Angels optioned Daniel to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.

Advice: For the second time this season, Daniel will return to the minors after a one-day stint with the Angels without seeing the field. The 26-year-old right-hander owns a 5.89 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across 36.2 innings in Triple-A. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago
    • Sent to Triple-A
The Angels optioned Goodrum to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.

Advice: Goodrum was claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay last Thursday, and he has since gone 0-for-13 in four games with the Angels. He will now return to the minors, making room for Luis Rengifo's (illness) return from the injured list. It's possible Goodrum returns later this year if the Angels continue to struggle with infield depth, but he has proven to be an offensive liability in the major leagues. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago
    • Activated from injured list
The Angels activated Rengifo (illness) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Rengifo missed the last week and a half with a viral illness which resulted in painful blisters on his feet. He's recovered now, though, and should be back in the lineup when the Angels return to action Friday in Texas against the Rangers. The super utility player is slashing .330/.378/.462 with two home runs and nine stolen bases over 28 contests this season. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

    • Homers in Wednesday's loss
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Goldschmidt is on a five-game hitting streak, having gone 7-for-23 (.304) with two homers and four RBI in that span. The burst of offense has doubled his homer total for the year to four, and he's up to 15 RBI, 20 runs scored, two stolen bases and three doubles while slashing .206/.291/.300 across 41 contests. Goldschmidt sat out a game just prior to his current streak, so it appears the mental reset is paying off in the short term, though his counting stats are unlikely to improve much if the team around him doesn't collectively start hitting better. • Easton Lucas designated for assignment
Athletics designated LHP Easton Lucas for assignment.

Advice: Lucas was optioned to the minors on Tuesday and now has been designated for assignment to make room for Brandon Bielak on the 40-man roster. The 27-year-old has allowed seven runs (six earned) on eight hits in 3 2/3 MLB innings this year with six strikeouts and three walks. He’s unlikely to be claimed by another team. • A’s acquire Bielak from Astros for cash
Astros traded RHP Brandon Bielak to the Athletics for cash considerations.

Advice: Bielak was designated for assignment last week and will now find a new home in Oakland. It’s a good landing spot for him in terms of innings, and he should help Oakland since he has a solid 4.65 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 155/85 K/BB ratio across 191 2/3 innings (70 appearances, 21 starts) since 2020. Given that the Athletic’s rotation is banged up, it might not be a surprise to see them try to stretch Bielak out to start again. However, he remains off the fantasy radar. Rotoworld Today, 9:25 am
