    • Rough day vs. Texas
Stripling (1-6) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing 11 runs (five earned) on 10 hits and two walks over 1.2 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: It was certainly an outing to forget for Stripling -- after allowing a leadoff homer to Marcus Semien in the first inning, the right-hander allowed the first seven batters to reach in the second as Texas would put up a 10 spot in the frame. Stripling had held opponents to three runs or fewer in four straight starts prior to Wednesday's implosion. His ERA is now up to 5.14 with a 1.57 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB through eight starts (42 innings) this year. Stripling will look to get back on track in his next outing, tentatively lined up for this weekend in Seattle. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

    • Optioned to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Munoz to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Advice: Munoz will head back to the minors after giving up six earned runs in 4.2 innings during Monday's loss to the Dodgers. George Soriano was recalled from Jacksonville to fill Munoz's roster spot, though Jesus Luzardo (elbow) and Braxton Garrett (shoulder) could return from their rehab assignments within the next several days to help fill the open spot in Miami's rotation. • Earns win in first start
Urena (1-2) earned the win Wednesday against Oakland, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Urena was able to minimize the damage through his first two innings before holding the A's to just one baserunner (who reached on an error) over his final three frames. The 32-year-old Urena had allowed four earned runs over 3.2 innings in his previous two appearances out of the bullpen. His ERA sits at 3.86 with a 1.29 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB this season. With Nathan Eovaldi (groin) working his way back from the IL, Urena will likely return to a relief role. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago
    • Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) throws bullpen session
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: It was Kershaw’s second bullpen session since undergoing offseason left shoulder surgery. The 36-year-old future Hall of Fame southpaw is targeting a midseason return to Los Angeles’ starting rotation mix and remains a viable option for fantasy managers on a per-start basis, when healthy. • José Ureña goes five innings for win against A’s
José Ureña was charged with two runs (one earned) over five innings on Tuesday in a win over the Athletics.

Advice: Ureña drew the spot starting assignment for Tuesday afternoon’s matinee out in Oakland and wound up getting 15 runs of support from the Rangers’ offense by the time he left the contest after five frames. He struck out two and also issued a pair of walks. He’ll presumably continue to operate in a swingman-type role for Texas until further notice. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago
    • Ross Stripling shelled for 11 runs in A’s loss
Ross Stripling was obliterated for 11 runs (five earned) over 1 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Stripling was ostensibly forced to wear it for the Athletics on Tuesday afternoon as the Rangers torched him for 10 hits before he was mercifully lifted from the contest without escaping the second inning. The calamitous blow-up outing balloons his full-season ERA from 4.24 to a ghastly 5.14 in the process. The 34-year-old veteran righty will aim to turn things around on Sunday when he faces the Mariners up in Seattle. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

    • Nearly perfect in second rehab start
Peterson (hip) struck out four and allowed one hit and no walks Friday for Single-A St. Lucie in the second start of his rehab assignment.

Advice: Peterson has now permitted just one baserunner while striking out nine over his first two rehab starts with St. Lucie and could be ready for a stiffer test with a higher-level affiliate. He built up to 41 pitches (23 strikes) on Friday and will likely need to bring his count up to around 75 before the Mets feel comfortable bringing him back from the 60-day injured list. After opening the season on the shelf while he continued his recovery from left hip surgery, Peterson won't be eligible for activation until late May. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago
    • Returning this weekend
Astros manager Joe Espada said Tuesday that Javier (neck) will return from the injured list this weekend to start against the Tigers, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Javier will return this weekend after missing just under a month due to the neck issue, though it's unclear exactly which day he'll take the mound in Detroit. The 27-year-old threw 68 pitches over 3.1 frames in his lone rehab outing and may face some minor workload limitations in his first outing back with the Astros. Rotowire.com Today, 2:54 pm
    • Making another rehab start
Megill (shoulder) will make another rehab start for Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Megill has fared well across his first two rehab outings, giving up one earned run through 4.2 innings while striking out 10 batters without surrendering a walk. If Sunday's start ends up being the 28-year-old's final rehab appearance, he would be lined up to potentially start for the Mets on Friday in Miami. Rotowire.com Today, 2:51 pm
