    • Picks up another start
Tyler is slated to start Friday's game in Philadelphia.

Advice: He'll receive a second straight turn through the Miami rotation after he took a no-decision his last time out Sunday against the Mariners, covering four innings and striking out two while giving up two runs on three hits and three walks. With injuries hitting the Miami pitching staff hard at the moment, Tyler could be in store for additional starts beyond Friday, even if he continues to underwhelm. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

    • Debuts with eight-inning gem
Daniel (1-0) picked up the win over the Tigers on Thursday, pitching eight scoreless innings while striking out eight.

Advice: Daniel was phenomenal in his first career start, generating 13 swings and misses while allowing only three runners to reach second base over his eight innings of work. The 27-year-old threw 21 of 26 first-pitches for strikes and didn't walk a batter en route to shutting out Detroit. One would certainly think that Daniel has earned himself another start with Thursday's dominant performance. Rotowire.com Today, 6:49 am

    • Starting rehab assignment
Weiss (shoulder) has been sent to the Twins' Florida Complex League affiliate to begin a rehab assignment.

Advice: Weiss has been sidelined all season with a teres major strain in his right shoulder but has been cleared for game action. Given all the time he's missed, the reliever's rehab assignment figures to be a lengthy one. Rotowire.com Today, 6:39 am

    • Nails down 14th save
McArthur pitched a perfect ninth inning and picked up the save over the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: McArthur entered the game with a one-run lead in the ninth and needed only eight pitches to retire the side for his 14th save of the season. The right-hander has been very reliable as of late, hurling a perfect inning in each of his last three appearances while lowering his June ERA to 2.00. On the downside, McArthur has managed just 4:4 K:BB this month over 10 appearances (nine innings) and hasn't recorded a strikeout in either of his last two outings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:15 am
    • Takes tough loss
Lively (7-4) took the loss against the Royals on Thursday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over six innings while striking out five.

Advice: Lively was sharp for most of the contest and didn't allow a runner to reach second until the fifth inning when Nick Loftin walked, then advanced on a steal. Unfortunately for the right-hander, his luck would run out in the following frame after he surrendered back-to-back triples to open things up, which eventually led to two runs coming home for Kansas City. It marked Lively's first quality start this month and he's now allowed two or fewer runs in six of his last seven outings. However, he's also lost two of his last three starts after previously winning five straight. Rotowire.com Today, 4:31 am

    • Earns sixth save
Kopech struck out one while not allowing a hit or a walk during the ninth inning Thursday to pick up the save against Atlanta.

Advice: A fielding error is all that prevented a 1-2-3 outing from Kopech, who collected his first save since May 15 after having blown his previous three opportunities. Kopech carries an impressive K/9 rate of 13.0, collecting 48 strikeouts over 33.1 innings. However, he's also allowed 48 batters to reach base (1.44 WHIP), including allowing 1.9 homers and 5.1 walks per nine innings. Kopech is a piece the White Sox will strongly consider selling at the trade deadline and will look for more performances like he provided Thursday to help them maximize his price tag. • Tosses three innings in spot start
Kuhl did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing no runs on one hit and two walks over three-plus innings against Atlanta. He struck out three.

Advice: Kuhl pitched well, facing one batter over the minimum through his three innings. He then came out for the fourth but was pulled after allowing a leadoff double to Ozzie Albies. Kuhl, who had thrown 99 pitches in long relief Sunday, was making his first start since April of 2023. Thursday's outing doesn't appear to be anything more than a spot start for the 31-year-old righty, who will likely return to the bullpen. Rotowire.com Today, 12:20 am

    • Strikes out seven in no-decision
Hicks did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and a hit batsman against the Cubs. He struck out seven.

Advice: Hicks' outing was marred by a rough third inning in which he hit a batter, allowed two steals and gave up a homer and triple among three hits during the three-run frame. Otherwise, Hicks faced just two batters over the minimum during the other four innings, recording at least seven strikeouts for the fourth time this season. He'll carry a strong 3.36 ERA into his next start, tentatively scheduled to take place next week when the Giants travel to Atlanta for a mid-week series. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:50 pm

    • Encouraging outing
Thielbar threw 1.1 scoreless innings without a strikeout or walk Thursday against Arizona.

Advice: It was a confidence building performance for Thielbar who had struggled in June. Thielbar had allowed nine runs (seven earned) and eight hits in his previous 3.2 innings over seven games. He had seemingly lost the ability to control his big breaking curve ball, but looked back to form Thursday. He's been limited to lower-leverage roles while he works out of his slump.
