    • Brandon Pfaadt strikes out eight, allows one run
Brandon Pfaadt struck out eight while limiting the Angels to one run in six innings to get a win Thursday.

Advice: Pfaadt did have some control issues with three walks and 62-of-108 pitches landing for strikes, but he was able to work out of jams thanks to the punchouts. It’s a much improved effort from last weekend when he gave up nine hits and five runs against San Diego. Pfaadt has shown almost zero consistency in his MLB career — at least not in a positive way — but the stuff is here for him to be a successful fantasy option. His next chance for quality results comes next week against the Nats. Rotoworld Today, 10:14 pm

    • Key knock as pinch hitter
Lowe went 1-for-1 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored Thursday against the Cubs.

Advice: Lowe began the game on the bench with lefty Justin Steele on the mound but entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning. He made an immediate impact with an RBI single and also tallied his first stolen base of the season. Lowe has gone only 2-for-18 since being activated from the injured list June 5 while striking out eight times. Rotowire.com Today, 8:13 pm

    • Lowe pinch hits, steals base to spark win Thursday
Josh Lowe went 1-for-1 with a run scored, an RBI, and a stolen base against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Lowe was on the bench to begin the game with the Rays facing a left-handed pitcher. The stolen base was his first of the year. He came off the bench and started the scoring for the Rays in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single. He later stole second and scored what turned out to be the winning run. Lowe had been 0-for-13 with two walks in his previous five games. Rotoworld Today, 6:21 pm

    • Blasts homer in win
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win against the Pirates.

Advice: He plated the first runs of the game, taking Mitch Keller deep in the third inning. With the long ball Goldschmidt snapped a 14-game homerless drought. The veteran now has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, but he still has just five RBI over his last 15 contests. The first baseman has a .226/.299/.354 slash line with eight home runs and 27 RBI through 65 games this season. Rotowire.com Today, 3:28 pm

    • Trea Turner (hamstring) running at 100 percent
Trea Turner (hamstring) progressed to running at 100 percent on Thursday.

Advice: Turner is trending towards making his long-awaited return to Philadelphia’s lineup at some point early next week. It sounds like the 30-year-old shortstop will skip a minor-league rehab assignment, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see him get in a couple at-bats over the weekend prior to returning. • Day off Thursday
Happ is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay.

Advice: Happ has had a rough road trip, collecting just one hit. He'll rest for the final game of the trip as Mike Tauchman draws the start in left field for the Cubs. Rotowire.com Today, 1:31 pm

    • Royce Lewis making fourth straight start Thursday
Royce Lewis is at third base and batting third for Thursday’s series opener against the Athletics.

Advice: It’s a notable development that Lewis is making his fourth straight start after being eased back into game action last week following a lengthy absence due to a severe quad injury. The 25-year-old emerging fantasy stalwart is batting .321 (9-for-28) with four homers and seven RBI in eight games since returning back on June 4. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm

    • Out against left-hander
Lowe is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Cubs.

Advice: The Cubs are sending southpaw Justin Steele to the hill in the rubber match, so the left-handed hitting Lowe will begin the game on the bench. Jonny DeLuca is playing right field for the Rays. Rotowire.com Today, 12:21 pm

    • On verge of rehab assignment
Polanco (hamstring) is slated to run the bases before Thursday's game against the White Sox and then head out on a rehab assignment, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Advice: Polanco has been progressively ramping up his level of activity in recent days, apparently without any setbacks. MLB.com reports that general manager Justin Hollander indicated team trainers would jointly assess Polanco's condition with the veteran infielder following Thursday's activity, at which point the length of the rehab assignment would likely be determined.
