    • Seth Lugo with another quality start, victory
      Seth Lugo stayed on track allowing just one earned run across six innings in a 6-1 win over the Twins. He struck out five and walked three.

      Advice: Lugo continued his stellar season earning his ninth win. He only induced nine whiffs and the Twins made plenty of hard contact with nine hard-hit balls, but Lugo once again managed to limit damage. He continues to mix eight pitches and saw his ERA drop to 1.72 in what’s been one of the biggest surprises of the young season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:18 pm
       
    • Corbin Burnes defeats Red Sox to improve to 5-2
      Corbin Burnes picked up his fifth victory of the season on Wednesday night, limiting the Red Sox to just one unearned run on three hits over seven strong frames.

      Advice: Burnes racked up five strikeouts on the night while issuing two free passes. The lone tally against him came via a one-out single, throwing error, errant pickoff throw and ground ball combination in the second inning. The 29-year-old hurler got 16 swings and misses on 108 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 28 percent.     • Ha-Seong Kim goes deep in Padres’ loss to Marlins
      Ha-Seong Kim belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Padres’ blowout loss to the Marlins.

      Advice: There weren’t a whole lot of positives for San Diego in this one as Kim’s third-inning shot off Marlins starter Braxton Garrett represented their lone tally in a one-sided affair. The 28-year-old’s batting average remains stuck around the Mendoza line, but he’s got eight homers and 13 stolen bases through 58 games so far. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:41 pm

    • Blanks Bucs for seventh win
      Skubal (7-1) picked up the win in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Pirates, scattering three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: The southpaw was dominant once again, as he retired the last 10 batters he faced and didn't allow a Pittsburgh baserunner to get past second base. Skubal generated a whopping 36 called or swinging strikes among his 93 pitches as he produced his eighth quality start of the season, and he'll take a dazzling 2.01 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 80:11 K:BB through 67 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road early next week against the Rangers.     • Avoids IL, but could need time off
      Megill (elbow) could be unavailable to pitch for a few days, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

      Advice: Megill was struck on the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. While X-rays came back negative and he has avoided the injured list for the time being, Megill might need a little time for the elbow to calm down.     • Trevor Megill (elbow) expects to avoid IL stint
      The Brewers aren’t currently planning to put Trevor Megill on the IL after he was hit in the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday’s game.

    • Tarik Skubal fans eight, combines on shutout
      Tarik Skubal pitched three-hit ball and struck out eight over seven innings Wednesday as the Tigers shut out the Pirates 8-0 in the first game of a doubleheader.

      Advice: Skubal followed up his worst start of the year against the Royals with one of his best today. He’s now 7-1 with a 2.01 ERA and an 80/11 K/BB ratio over 67 innings. His 0.821 WHIP barely puts him behind Ranger Suárez at 0.819 for best in the league. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:15 pm
       
    • No run support in loss
      Luzardo (2-4) took the loss Tuesday against the Marlins, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four in six innings.

      Advice: Luzardo managed to reach six innings for a third consecutive start, but never had a shot for a win after the Marlins were shut out. The Padres quickly got to him in the first with a two-run blast from Jurickson Profar and then Profar notched another RBI in the fifth. It was the first time Luzardo has allowed runs in the opening frame this season.       Cruz is absent from the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Tigers.

      Advice: Detroit is sending lefty ace Tarik Skubal to the hill in the first game of the doubleheader, so the left-handed-hitting Cruz will begin the contest on the bench. Cruz should be back in the lineup for second game, when the Tigers will start righty Keider Montero. Alika Williams is garnering the start at shortstop in the first tilt.
