    • Aiming to return Tuesday
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that Lowe (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham this weekend and hopes to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday versus the Marlins, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Last week, Lowe made his second trip to the IL this season with a right oblique strain. The strain was deemed mild, allowing him to resume baseball activities ahead of this weekend's rehab assignment. If Lowe does indeed return Tuesday, he will have missed just a little more than the minimum 10 days. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:23 am

    • Josh Lowe could return to Rays lineup on Tuesday
Josh Lowe (oblique) will play for Triple-A Durham this weekend as he nears a return.

Advice: The plan is for Lowe to play all weekend with Durham and, if all feels good, he could return to the Tampa Bay lineup on Tuesday against the Marlins. Lowe has now had three setbacks this season with his oblique, but the last imaging he had showed no major issues and both he and the Rays have expressed optimism that he will return next week. • Reaches 10-homer mark
Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an RBI double and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Twins.

Advice: Perez has hit safely in five straight games, going 6-for-21 (.286) in that span. The homer was his first since May 20 and his 10th of the year. He also crossed the 40-RBI mark Wednesday, getting him past halfway to matching his total of 80 RBI over 140 contests last year. The catcher is slashing .325/.386/.537 through 55 games in 2024. • Pete Fairbanks nabs win
Pete Fairbanks got the victory for the Rays with a scoreless ninth inning before they walked it off in the bottom half. He allowed one hit.

Advice: Fairbanks was bailed out by Jose Siri, who saved a run with a great catch in center field before delivering the game winning hit to grab Fairbanks the victory. This was his second straight outing without a punch out. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:57 pm
    • Mookie Betts plays second for first time in weeks
The Dodgers have Mookie Betts at second base and Miguel Rojas at shortstop in Wednesday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: It’s Betts’ first start at second base in exactly a month, as the Dodgers had been leaving him at shortstop when playing Rojas over Gavin Lux against lefties. This is how they did it in April before making Betts a permanent shortstop in recent weeks. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:29 am

    • Resumes baseball activity
Lowe (oblique) went through a full workout on the field and hit in the batting cage prior to Tuesday's game against the A's, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lowe felt good after the work and will now increase the intensity of his activity over the next several days, including hitting against a high-velocity pitching machine and throwing with full intensity. For now, Lowe is expecting to be back from the injured list when first eligible. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:00 am

    • Another victory
Gausman (4-3) picked up the win Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Gausman was sharp Tuesday, yielding one run and fewer than five hits for a second straight start to tally his fourth win in his last six outings. However, he snapped a streak of four consecutive outings with six or more Ks and yielded three extra-base hits. Gausman has allowed one or fewer earned runs in six of his last eight starts but owns a 4.14 ERA on the year. He's tentatively scheduled for a start against Baltimore on Monday. • Gausman allows one earned run in win over ChiSox
Kevin Gausman allowed one earned and four hits over six innings while earning the win on Tuesday against the White Sox.

Advice: Gausman didn’t face much resistance in this one, as the Blue Jays grabbed an early 3-0 lead in the second, which more or less put Gausman in cruise control against one of the league’s worst offenses. Gausman earned a win in three of his five stars this month, and will have a chance to start June off on a strong note when he makes his next scheduled start on Monday against the Orioles. • Officially activated
The Yankees reinstated LeMahieu (foot) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: A fracture of LeMahieu's right foot has kept him on the injured list all season, but he will return to make his season debut Tuesday while starting at third base and batting ninth. The 35-year-old veteran will act as New York's primary third baseman going forward, though he's expected to receive a handful of off days initially as the Yankees attempt to ease him back into action.
