    • Carroll returns to the lineup on Friday
Corbin Carroll is back in the Diamondbacks lineup, batting second against the Tigers on Friday.

Advice: Carroll came off the bench and pinch ran and scored a run on Wednesday. Fantasy managers have to be frustrated with Carroll’s production so far this season as he’s hitting just .193 with a .539 OPS. Only seven qualified hitters have a lower batting average entering play Friday. It’s not what you want from a first round pick. Rotoworld Today, 12:25 pm
    • Max Kepler goes hitless in Twins’ shutout loss
Max Kepler went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Thursday in the Twins’ shutout loss at the hands of the Yankees.

Advice: Kepler has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball of late, hitting .354 (17-for-48) with two homers and seven doubles in 14 games since the start of May, but wasn’t able to get anything going in this one. He wasn’t alone as Minnesota’s lineup wound up being limited to just three hits as Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt and reliever Victor González combined on a shutout. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:32 pm

    • Getting day off Wednesday
Carroll is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Carroll looked like he might be righting the ship earlier this month, but he's since fallen back into a 3-for-28 slump over his last seven contests. Jake McCarthy will patrol center field Wednesday while Carroll regroups. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:56 am
    • Power trending up
Arozarena went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Arozarena slugged his eighth home run of the season and fifth in his last 11 games. He's also stolen three bags in that span. While his counting stats have been trending positively, Arozarena has still struck out at a 31.5 percent clip in May, leading to a .205 batting average for the month. • Max Kepler sitting against lefty on Tuesday
Max Kepler, Edouard Julien, Trevor Larnach and Alex Kirilloff are not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Yankees.

Advice: The quartet of left-handed batters will take a seat with tough lefty Carlos Rodón toeing the rubber for New York. Kepler has been outstanding of late since returning from the injured list, but figures to continue sitting against southpaws. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:43 pm

    • Sitting out Tuesday
Kepler is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Yankees.

Advice: The left-handed hitting Kepler is swinging a red-hot bat but will take a seat in this one with the Yankees starting southpaw Carlos Rodon. Manuel Margot will patrol right field. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:10 pm

    • Takes soft toss Monday
Edman (wrist) took soft toss Monday as he continues his hitting progression, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Edman has gone from tee work to soft toss and will progress to facing live pitching once he's ready for the next step. The switch hitter is being slow-played following complications in his recovery from right wrist surgery and still appears to be pretty far off from beginning a rehab assignment. • Rehab games could come this week
White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Monday that Robert (hip) could begin playing in games with the team's rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate later this week, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Advice: The White Sox are aiming for Robert to be able to run at 90 percent effort in the coming days. If that happens, Robert is expected to be cleared for Complex League games. The 26-year-old presumably would eventually move up to a higher-level affiliate to continue his rehab. Robert has been out since early April with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain but should return from the 10-day injured list before the end of the month if all goes well. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:47 pm

    • Luis Robert Jr. could play rehab games this week
The White Sox are hoping to get Luis Robert Jr. (hip) into rehab games later this week.

Advice: Robert still isn’t running at full strength, but the White Sox insist on being aggressive with injuries, no matter how often it’s come back to bite them. It doesn’t seem likely that Robert will spend much time on a rehab assignment, so he might back to contribute in fantasy leagues next week. Rotoworld Monday, 2:18 pm
