    • Collects 12th steal
Mullins went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Mullins has seen his playing time dip amid his prolonged struggles at the plate. He's gone just 9-for-73 (.123) with a 3:24 BB:K over 26 contests since the start of May, though he has managed to pick up six steals in that span despite his troubles getting on base. Mullins is slashing a meager .178/.225/.314 with 12 steals, six home runs, 22 RBI and 23 runs scored over 182 plate appearances this year. Austin Hays and Colton Cowser have been the main players to benefit from Mullins' decreased playing time, and the Orioles aren't short on prospects to call up if they choose to mix up the composition of outfielders on their roster. • Tagged for walk-off blast
Kopech (1-6) allowed a solo home run to the only batter he faced, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Cubs.

Advice: Kopech was taken deep by Mike Tauchman as the Cubs won in walk-off fashion. It's been tough sledding for Kopech lately -- he's allowed five runs (four earned) over his last 2.2 innings, taking the loss in three of his last four appearances. The right-hander is now at a 4.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB through 25.2 innings while adding five saves, a hold and two blown saves. If he continues to struggle, Kopech could eventually lose his high-leverage role, though the White Sox's poor play overall has made it difficult for any of the team's relievers to put up saves. • Cedric Mullins lines out twice in loss
Making his first start in three days, Cedric Mullins went 0-for-3 with a walk Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: That sounds bad, but it was actually a really encouraging night for Mullins. Aside from his strikeout, his two at-bats produced liners up the middle at 103 and 97 mph. Unfortunately, those balls were hit right at the shortstop and center fielder, respectively, but in the grand scheme of things, that doesn’t matter much. Alas, Mullins will probably head back to the bench Thursday with the Orioles facing a left-hander for the first time in 10 games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:18 pm
    • Jordan Hicks lasts just 3 2/3 frames vs. D-backs
Jordan Hicks gave up two runs over 3 2/3 inefficient frames on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hicks was all over the place in this one as he authored one of the more bizarre pitching lines of the season to date with seven strikeouts and four walks, while needing a staggering 92 pitches (51 strikes) to work into the fourth inning. The 27-year-old righty has exceeded expectations in his transition back to a traditional starting role, despite not working too deep into contests so far, posting a stellar 2.82 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 59/23 K/BB ratio across 67 innings (13 starts). He’ll square off against the Astros on Tuesday in his next outing. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:12 pm

    • Inefficient in no-decision
Hicks came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks, giving up two runs on six hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: The right-hander did rack up some Ks, but Hicks needed 92 pitches (51 strikes) to record just 11 outs and got the hook before he could quality for a win. He's failed to complete six innings in seven straight trips to the mound, posting a 4.09 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB over 33 innings during that stretch. Hicks will look for a more efficient performance in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Astros. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:41 pm

    • Royals-Guardians postponed
Singer and the Royals won't play the Guardians on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Cleveland.

Advice: The Royals and Guardians will make up the postponed game as part of a split doubleheader Aug. 26 After missing his previous turn through the rotation last Thursday due to an illness, Singer was cleared to start Wednesday, but he looks like he'll have to wait until Thursday's series finale with the Guardians to make his return to the rotation. • Cody Bradford (back) throwing from 120 feet
Cody Bradford (back) is now throwing from a distance of 120 feet as he continues to work his way back from a stress fracture.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw is reportedly feeling much better than he was prior to being shut down. There’s still no clear timeline for a potential return, but he should be ready for bullpen work soon. If he’s able to avoid any additional setbacks, he could be an option for the Rangers around the All-Star break. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:48 pm

    • Late addition to lineup
Meyers has been added to the lineup and will start in center field and bat cleanup Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Meyers had been scheduled to receive the day off, but with Alex Bregman (hand) scratched from the lineup, the Astros had an opening. With Meyers filling his usual spot in center field, Mauricio Dubon will shift from center to cover third base for Bregman. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:06 am

    • J.T. Realmuto out of lineup for Wednesday’s game
J.T. Realmuto, who was pretty well beaten up in Tuesday’s game against the Brewers, is absent from Wednesday’s lineup.

Advice: It’s also a day game after a night game, but we imagine he still would have been in there today if he hadn’t taken quite a bit of damage Tuesday, particularly since the Phillies aren’t playing the next two days as they travel to London. Garrett Stubbs is catching today. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:31 am
