    • Not yet doing on-field activity
Trout (knee) has yet to progress to performing on-field activities, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Trout has been out of action since being diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee near the end of April. Los Angeles has thus far kept him on the 10-day injured list, but he doesn't seem to be anywhere near being activated -- or even beginning a minor-league rehab stint -- given his lack of baseball activity. Trout is expected to return to action at some point this season, but the Angels are unlikely to rush him back given their position in the standings, and his timeframe for rejoining the team remains hazy. • Hits fifth in return
Jones went 0-for-2 with two walks Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Jones was activated from the injured list Friday after missing roughly six weeks due to back and knee injuries. He hit fifth in the order, which was a common spot in the lineup for him before he was sidelined. Jones will now seek to get his season on track, as he has just a .167/.252/.271 line with one home run and two stolen bases across 107 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:08 am

    • Nolan Jones (back, knee) rejoins Rockies on Friday
Rockies activated OF Nolan Jones from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old has been sidelined since April 29 due to back and knee issues, but is finally ready to return to the Rockies’ lineup. Prior to landing on the injured list, he was hitting a paltry .170/.243/.277 with one homer, seven RBI and a pair of stolen bases through his first 26 ballgames. Jones will start in left field and bat fifth against Carmen Mlodzinski and the Pirates on Friday evening at Coors Field. Rotoworld Friday, 2:57 pm

    • Reinstated from IL
Jones (knee) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Advice: Jones landed on the injured list April 30 due to back stiffness. His initial rehab assignment was halted May 21 due to right knee soreness stemming from a slide, but he was able to resume activities June 3. Across his 12 rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque, Jones went 9-for-42 with six runs, one home run and six RBI. He is starting in left field and batting fifth in Friday's game against the Pirates. To make room for Jones, Colorado placed Elias Diaz on the 10-day IL with a left calf strain, retroactive to June 11. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:32 pm

    • Out of lineup versus righty
Hernandez isn't in the Dodgers' lineup versus the Rangers on Thursday.

Advice: Hernandez is on the bench again with righty Michael Lorenzen on the mound for the Rangers. Recently acquired Cavan Biggio has the start at third and is batting eighth Thursday. Hernandez, who was serving as the primary third baseman in Max Muncy's absence due to an oblique strain, appears set to fill that role against lefties while Biggio starts versus righties. For the season, Hernandez has a .724 OPS against lefties and a .493 OPS against righties. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:25 pm

    • Sitting Wednesday
Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Hernandez will sit for the second consecutive contest after starting the previous four games at third base. The 32-year-old has a .591 OPS in 155 plate appearances this season, and the acquisition of Cavan Biggio -- who is starting at the hot corner Wednesday -- could result in a reduced role for Hernandez. • Goes deep again Tuesday
Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Tuesday's 15-2 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Hernandez's lone hit of the night was a big blast in the sixth, an inning during which the Dodgers scored seven runs on four homers. He now has five long balls and 12 RBI over his last five games and has totaled 10 hits over that span, raising his slash line to .266/336/.525 with 17 homers, 50 RBI, 40 runs scored and a 24:81 BB:K in 286 plate appearances. • Logs steal in loss
Steer went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Steer recorded his 12th steal in 65 games, putting him on pace to surpass the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Speed was not a hallmark to his game in the minors, but the running Reds have changed that. On an unrelated note, the team received news that first baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand is mulling season-ending wrist surgery. That means Steer, who has been the primary fill-in for Encarnacion-Strand in recent weeks, may continue on as Cincinnati's regular at first base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:54 am

    • On bench Tuesday
Hernandez isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Rangers.

Advice: Hernandez has been the primary third baseman for the Dodgers while Max Muncy nurses an oblique injury. In the three-game series versus the Yankees that ended Sunday, Hernandez went 3-for-10 with a home run and a double. With the 32-year-old on the bench Tuesday, Miguel Rojas is starting at third base and will bat ninth. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:10 pm
