    • Aroldis Chapman gets win in relief on Wednesday
Aroldis Chapman struck out three and allowed one run (zero earned) over two innings on Wednesday against the Cardinals to pick up his first win of the season.

Advice: Chapman hurled a scoreless ninth inning to send the contest to extra innings before allowing the ghost runner to cross the plate in the ensuing frame. Fortunately, the Pirates wound up rallying for a walk-off victory in the bottom of the 10th inning. The 36-year-old southpaw has done a nice job filling in for injured stopper David Bednar recently and figures to continue closing for Pittsburgh through the Midsummer Classic. • Erick Fedde completes six in win over Guardians
Erick Fedde struck out three and allowed one run over six innings on Wednesday in a win over the Guardians.

Advice: Fedde wasn’t overpowering in this one, but he got plenty of run support from Chicago’s lineup and managed to limit Cleveland’s offense to just three hits and a trio of walks over six frames. A third-inning sacrifice fly from David Fry, on the heels of a leadoff double by Guardians rookie Daniel Schneemann, represented the lone tally against him in this one. The 31-year-old journeyman righty has settled in as a solid back-end rotation stabilizer for fantasy managers in his White Sox debut. He’ll carry a strong 3.13 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 94/28 K/BB ratio across 106 1/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing against the Twins on Tuesday to close out the first half. • Requires rehab stint
Garcia (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday and will need at least one minor-league rehab appearance before being activated, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: If all goes well, Garcia would be sent out for a rehab assignment following Wednesday's bullpen session. While it's unclear exactly how many appearances he'll need in the minors, manager John Schneider indicated Garcia would need more than one outing before rejoining the active roster. Once he's healthy, Garcia could take over closing duties considering Jordan Romano (elbow) will be shut down from throwing for at least six weeks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:27 pm

    • Ezequiel Tovar absent from Rockies’ lineup
Ezequiel Tovar is not in the Rockies’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s showdown against the Brewers.

Advice: It looks to be a routine day off for the 22-year-old shortstop. Tovar has slumped recently after a very strong start to the season, hitting just .205/.244/.231 with no homers, one RBI and a 14/2 K/BB ratio over 41 plate appearances in his last nine games. Aaron Schunk will start in his place at shortstop and will bat ninth against Colin Rea and the Brewers on Wednesday evening at Coors Field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:06 pm

    • Getting rare day off
Tovar is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Wednesday marks Tovar's third day off this season, as the 22-year-old yields to Aaron Schunk at shortstop. Tovar is slashing .276/.304/.459 with 12 home runs across 371 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:29 pm

    • Falls apart late
Berrios (8-6) picked up the win Tuesday against Houston, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout across five innings. He also hit a batter.

Advice: Berrios kept the Astros off the scoreboard until the fifth inning, where he unwound and allowed three singles, a hit-by-pitch and a three-run home run. Still, Berrios was able to snare a second straight win as the Blue Jays had compiled seven runs prior to the fifth. The 30-year-old has been shaky as of late, owning a 5.97 ERA with 17 strikeouts and eight home runs allowed over his last five starts. He's scheduled to face the Mariners on Sunday. • On base four times in win
Donovan went 3-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Donovan had just six hitless games in June -- two of which were at the start of the month and two more at the end. He got off to a positive start in July with Tuesday's effort, his third three-hit game over his last 11 contests. He's up to a .270/.340/.414 slash line with eight home runs, 42 RBI, 37 runs scored, two stolen bases, 18 doubles and one triple over 79 games. Donovan's hit well enough to have a near-everyday role in left field. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:51 pm

    • Rhys Hoskins leads Brewers past Rockies on Tuesday
Rhys Hoskins drew a go-ahead bases-loaded walk with two outs in the ninth inning on Tuesday night, leading the Brewers to a 4-3 victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Hoskins entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Jake Bauers in the eighth inning where he went down on strikes. He atoned for that failure in the ninth inning though, working a walk off of Justin Lawrence to drive in the go-ahead run. On the season, the 31-year-old slugger is hitting .224/.318/.404 with 11 homers, 38 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:14 pm

    • Jose Berrios falters late in win over Astros
Jose Berrios allowed five runs on five hits in five innings in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Berrios kept the Astros off the scoreboard for the first four innings, but the fifth inning was a bit of a disaster. The inning started with a hit by pitch and then a walk and then was followed by two singles and a home run to push five runs across the plate and end his day. The veteran has a 3.63 ERA on the year, but his underlying metrics suggest some regression is coming. Still, he should be able to survive a showdown against the Mariners this weekend.
