    • Matt Chapman wallops grand slam to sink Reds
Matt Chapman went 2-for-4 with a grand slam on Saturday, propelling the Giants to a 5-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Chapman’s 416-foot moonshot to left-center field off Reds starter Nick Lodolo with two outs in the opening frame was more than enough run support for San Francisco’s pitching staff to pull away with an easy victory at Oracle Park. It was his fifth round-tripper of the season and first time he’s gone deep since April 16. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:21 am

    • Grand slam powers win
Chapman went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Chapman has multiple hits in two of his last three games, and Saturday also saw him go deep for the first time since April 16. The third baseman's first-inning blast was all the Giants needed in the win. Chapman is up to five homers, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored, seven doubles and three stolen bases with a .213/.261/.355 slash line over 40 contests. He's yet to really find a rhythm at the plate, and he's also not showing as much power or plate discipline to make up for his shaky contact. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:49 pm

    • Receiving rest day
Chapman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Chapman will take a seat for the first time since April 20 in what likely amounts to a maintenance day as the Giants and Rockies wrap up their series with a day game after a night game. Wilmer Flores will fill in at the hot corner for Chapman, who has seen his performance both in the field and at the plate take a step back in 2024 since signing with the Giants in March. He enters Thursday's contest with a .601 OPS, the lowest mark of any season in his career by more than 100 points (.717 in 2021 with Oakland). Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:34 am

    • Homers in win
Suarez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a steal in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Suarez's eighth-inning home run gave the Diamondbacks a 4-2 cushion, which the team needed as the Reds plated a run in the bottom of the ninth. It was the third home run of the season for Suarez, who earlier in the game snapped an 0-for-14 stretch, while the stolen base was his first of 2024. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:17 pm

    • Eugenio Suárez has sock and a shoe to lead D’Backs
Eugenio Suárez went 2-for-3 with a homer and a stolen base on Wednesday night, leading the Diamondbacks to a 4-3 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati.

Advice: The 32-year-old slugger was hit by a pitch to start the fourth inning, then stole his first base of the season, but the Diamondbacks couldn’t cash him in. He then added a valuable insurance run with a two-out, 390-foot (104.4) solo shot off of Lucas Sims that extended the Diamondbacks’ lead to 4-2 — and proved to be the difference in the ballgame. With his two-hit attack, Suárez is now hitting .226/.295/.346 with three long balls and 20 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:38 pm
