    • X-rays come back negative for Ranger Suárez
X-rays on the injured thumb of Phillies’ left-hander Ranger Suárez came back negative for any fractures on Saturday.

Advice: Phillies’ skipper Rob Thomson told reporters that Suárez is still dealing with some swelling in his thumb but that the team feels fortunate to have dodged any serious injuries. He’s slated to take the mound against the Mets next weekend in London, but it’s still unclear whether or not he’ll be able to take the hill. Fantasy managers should be sure to have a contingency plan in place for next week in the event that Suárez isn’t ready in time. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • X-rays clean, unsure for next start
Suarez's (hand) X-rays came back negative Saturday but there's swelling in his left thumb and it's unclear if he'll be able to make his next scheduled start, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Fantasy managers can take a deep breath knowing that Suarez avoided significant injury after being hit by a comebacker during his start Saturday. While it's uncertain at this point if Suarez will recover in time for his next start -- which is scheduled for June 8 -- the 29-year-old is expected to avoid the injured list after Saturday's scare. He's been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, boasting a 9-1 record with a 1.70 ERA across 74.0 innings. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago

    • Bohm drives in two against Cardinals Saturday
Alec Bohm went 2-for-4 with a run scored, a double and two RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Bohm started the scoring with a two-run double off Sonny Gray in the first inning. He only has five home runs on the season, but he’s hitting .311 with 49 RBI in 58 games. Bohm is a mainstay in the middle of the order for the Phillies now. Rotoworld Today, 7:14 pm

    • Ranger Suarez leaves start with left hand contusion
Ranger Suarez was pulled from Saturday’s start against the Cardinals after being hit in the left hand by a comebacker.

Advice: For now, the Phillies are calling it a left-hand contusion, so it sounds like the 28-year-old southpaw was fortunate to have avoided any serious injury. Prior to exiting, he had worked two perfect innings with a pair of strikeouts. It doesn’t sound like his next start should be in jeopardy, but fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status over the next couple of days just to be on the safe side. • Thairo Estrada held out of lineup with thumb issue
Thairo Estrada was held out of the Giants’ starting lineup on Saturday night due to a sore left thumb.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder suffered the injury when he jammed his thumb on second base while sliding during Friday’s game. He’s considered day-to-day. Brett Wisely will start in his place at second base and bat ninth for the Giants on Saturday evening. Rotoworld Today, 5:38 pm

    • Hit by comebacker
Suarez was removed from Saturday's game against the Cardinals with a left hand contusion after being struck by a 106.1 MPH comebacker in the second inning, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Suarez didn't allow a baserunner and struck out two hitters over two innings.

Advice: Early reports indicate that Suarez is only dealing with a bruised throwing hand after being hit by a comebacker off the bat of Alec Burleson on Saturday. After Suarez's two perfect innings, Jose Ruiz will take over on the mound. The Phillies will likely continue to evaluate Suarez throughout the evening to ensure that the injury is merely a contusion and nothing long term. Thankfully for Suarez managers, the Phillies have back-to-back days off next week and the ace's next start is scheduled for June 8. Rotowire.com Today, 5:01 pm

    • Dealing with jammed thumb
Estrada is considered day-to-day after jamming his thumb during Friday's game against the Yankees, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Saturday's absence from the lineup is more than just a day off for the second baseman, who picked up a minor thumb injury in the series opener against New York. Estrada was deemed day-to-day and won't have the benefit of a team-wide rest day until Thursday. If Estrada is forced to miss more time, Brett Wisely would likely fill the gap at second. • Jordan Westburg homers in return to lineup
Jordan Westburg went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Westburg returned to the lineup after missing two games with a hand injury and looked just fine at the plate. He took Taj Bradley deep for a solo homer to lead off the second inning. He drove in a second run with a single in the third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jorge Mateo. The 25-year-old infielder has enjoyed a breakout season, hitting .295/.354/.523 with nine homers, 36 RBI, and five steals across 213 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:05 pm

    • Trevor Megill (elbow) returns to action Saturday
Trevor Megill (elbow) returned to action on Saturday and looked no worse for the wear, striking out all three batters that he faced in a scoreless inning against the White Sox.

Advice: It wasn’t a save chance, as it was the seventh inning of a game where the Brewers trailed 3-1, but it was nice to see Megill look as dominant as ever after taking a scary line drive off of his arm during Monday’s game. He needed just 14 pitches (nine strikes) to dispatch of Zach Remillard, Tommy Pham and Korey Lee in order. Rotoworld Today, 3:15 pm
