    • Jackson Merrill powers Padres past Brewers
Jackson Merrill went 3-for-3, drew a walk and clobbered a three-run homer on Saturday, powering the Padres to a 6-4 victory over the Brewers in San Diego.

Advice: Merrill smacked a one-out single off of Carlos Rodriguez in the second inning, but was ultimately stranded at third base. The 21-year-old outfielder then broke a scoreless tie with his mammoth 440-foot (105.9 mph EV) three-run blast to center field in the fourth inning. He also singled in the sixth. With his three-hit attack, Merrill is now slashing a robust .290/.327/.444 with 10 homers, 35 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

    • Allows six runs in loss
Megill (2-4) took the loss against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing six runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts over three innings.

Advice: Megill allowed six baserunners and five runs in a disastrous 38-pitch first inning. He managed six strikeouts over the next two frames but also surrendered a solo home run to Christopher Morel and was replaced to open the fourth at 78 pitches. The outing was Megill's worst of the season, and he has now yielded 15 earned runs over 17.2 innings in four June starts. He owns a 4.81 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB through 33.2 innings in 2024 and lines up to face the Astros next week. Rotowire.com Today, 6:46 pm
    • Jazz Chisholm Jr. leaves game with tight biceps
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was removed from Saturday’s game against the Mariners due to tightness in his right biceps.

Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder had been 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout when Vidal Brujan surprisingly hit for him in the sixth inning. The severity of the injury is not yet known, so be sure to check his status on Sunday. It may be wise for fantasy managers to have a contingency plan in place for next week in the event that Chisholm requires a trip to the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 5:12 pm

    • Reports soreness during bullpen
Kershaw (shoulder) reported soreness during Saturday's bullpen session and could have his rehab outing scheduled for Tuesday pushed back, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Kershaw completed three innings in a rehab outing at Single-A Ranchero Cucamonga on Wednesday and was expected to jump up to Triple-A Oklahoma City for Tuesday's outing. However, he may need more time between rehab appearances after feeling soreness in his shoulder during a bullpen session Saturday. Even if Kershaw does have to push back his next outing, he's still not expected back until near the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 4:44 pm

    • Clayton Kershaw dealing with soreness in shoulder
Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts told reporters on Saturday that Clayton Kershaw reported feeling soreness in his left shoulder following a bullpen session earlier in the day.

Advice: It’s not unusual for a pitcher to feel some soreness as they’re getting stretched out after such a long layoff, but he’ll be monitored closely over the next few days. Roberts noted that it’s possible Kershaw’s next minor league rehab start — scheduled for Tuesday at Triple-A Oklahoma City — will need to be pushed back. Rotoworld Today, 4:34 pm

    • Tyler Soderstrom hits solo homer in blowout loss
Tyler Soderstrom hit a solo homer in a blowout loss to the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: Even in a blowout loss, Soderstrom was able to impress as he has for the overwhelming majority of June. What was a slash of .182/.308/.318 coming into the month now sits at .250/.353/.480, and the blast was his sixth homer of the season. Soderstrom was a first-round pick for a reason, and he deserves some attention from those who need help at the corner-infield spot. Rotoworld Today, 3:43 pm

    • Gray tosses six shutout innings, gets third win
Jon Gray threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Rangers’ 6-0 victory over the Royals on Saturday.

Advice: Gray gave up two hits, walked none and struck out three. It was a necessary bounce back start for Gray after he allowed nine earned runs in his last start against the Mets. It was just his third win of the season and first since May 15th. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the season. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next weekend. • Jordan Westburg homers in loss to Astros
Jordan Westburg connected on a solo homer in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Westburg’s homer accounted for the only run of the game for the Orioles; a solo shot in the second off Ronel Blanco. The 25-year-old has put together a solid first half with 12 homers, 36 RBI and .837 OPS over his 267 at-bats. Rotoworld Today, 3:31 pm

    • Ronel Blanco holds O’s to one run over seven
Ronel Blanco allowed one run in seven innings to get a win Saturday over the Orioles.

Advice: Blanco gave up a homer to Jordan Westburg in the second inning, but it was smooth sailing for the right-hander from that point on. He did put three runners on via walk, but he was able to strike out four and limited the loaded Baltimore lineup at an impressive level. Blanco has been one of the biggest bright spots for the Astros in 2024, and he’ll take a 2.34 ERA into a scheduled start against the Mets next weekend. Rotoworld Today, 3:29 pm
