      Charlie Morton gave up two runs in six innings against the Dodgers on Friday while not factoring into the decision.

      Advice: Morton continues his good run, but it comes without a win as Atlanta didn’t provide him the necessary run support. The right-hander lowered his season ERA to 3.50 while scattering five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Morton didn’t look good in the middle of April, but the 40-year-old has been a very strong option outside of those two outings where he gave up 12 of the 14 runs he’s given up in 2024.       Advice: Helsely retired the 2-3-4 hitters in the White Sox lineup with just eight pitches to secure the 3-0 win. Since blowing a save chance in his season debut, Helsley has converted 11 consecutive opportunities while allowing one earned run over 16 innings.       Advice: Helsley didn’t give up a hit, didn’t give up a walk, and didn’t pick up a strikeout. The right-hander needed just eight pitches — seven of those strikes — against a Chicago team that looked like it wanted to be anywhere else.       Advice: The 25-year-old shortstop had gone 17 straight games without a homer coming into Friday and nearly made it 18. but he got hold of a Jalen Beeks changeup in the ninth inning to make things close for the Pirates. It was Cruz's fourth long ball of the season and his first off a southpaw, and the RBI were his first since April 22.
