    • Breather Saturday
Kwan is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus Washington.

Advice: Kwan will head to the bench after he went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in his return to the lineup Friday after missing nearly four weeks with a hamstring injury. David Fly will slot in at left field while Kyle Manzardo enters the lineup at designated hitter and bats sixth against the Nationals. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

    • Masataka Yoshida (thumb) takes BP on Saturday
Masataka Yoshida (thumb) progressed to taking batting practice on Saturday at Fenway Park.

Advice: Yoshida progressed to taking on-field batting practice for the first time since landing on the injured list back in early May with a left thumb issue. The 30-year-old slugger should be ready for a minor league rehab assignment at some point in the coming weeks, if not sooner. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Steven Kwan not in Saturday’s lineup vs. Nationals
Steven Kwan is not in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Nationals.

Advice: Kwan will take a seat on Saturday afternoon with rookie southpaw Mitchell Parker toeing the rubber for Washington at Progressive Field. The 26-year-old contact-oriented outfielder didn’t show any signs of rust on Friday when he tallied three hits and reached base safely in four of his five plate appearances during his return from the injured list. • Plates pair in Friday's win
Raleigh went 1-for-3 with an RBI sacrifice fly and a run-scoring single in a win over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Raleigh's timely hitting would prove to be essential in a one-run victory, with the backstop bringing home the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the opening frame before delivering a fifth-inning knock to plate J.P. Crawford and extend the Mariners' lead to 4-0 at the time. Raleigh had been mired in a 1-for-17 funk over the previous six games, however, and he's recorded just a sole extra-base hit over the 43 plate appearances spanning his last 12 games after lacing 14 over his first 41 contests of the campaign. • Preserves win with arm
De La Cruz went 0-for-4 with a stolen base in Fridays 5-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: De La Cruz's MLB-leading 32nd steal had no impact on the game, but the shortstop's cannon arm did. His 93.3 mph relay gunned down the potential tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning to preserve Cincinnati's win. Rotowire.com Today, 5:50 am
    • James Outman tallies four hits, homers Friday at AAA
James Outman went 4-for-6 with a three-run homer and four RBI on Friday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Outman was demoted to the minors a couple weeks ago after posting a disastrous .516 OPS with three homers and two steals in 36 games for Los Angeles, but he appears to be finding his groove at the dish again. The 27-year-old’s four-hit performance gives him a 1.245 OPS with three homers and four steals in just 10 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City. There isn’t exactly a path to at-bats with the Dodgers at the moment, but he figures to get another shot at some point later this season. Rotoworld Today, 5:13 am

    • Three hits in return
Kwan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and a walk in Friday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Kwan returned from the injured list after missing nearly the entire month of May but showed no signs of rust. He singled three times, including an RBI knock in the eighth inning. He's produced five multi-hit performances in his last eight appearances. Kwan owns a strong .365/.420/.504 slash line with 30 runs scored and a 12:12 BB:K through 150 plate appearances. • Steven Kwan goes 3-for-4 in return
Steven Kwan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk in a win over the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Kwan didn’t miss a beat after spending nearly four weeks on the IL with a hamstring strain. He was slashing the ball all over the yard and in the middle of multiple Guardians’ rallies. His batting average is up to an astounding .365. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:38 pm

    • Scheduled for BP
Manager Alex Cora said Friday that Yoshida (thumb) is expected to take batting practice Saturday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Yoshida began hitting off a tee Friday and will take his next step toward returning from a strained left thumb. A timetable for return has yet to be established, but Yoshida seems to be well on his way to reinstatement. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:18 pm
