    • Jared Jones (lat) return in ‘weeks, not days’
Pirates general manager Ben Cherington told reporters Sunday that Jared Jones (lat) return from the injured list will be in “weeks, not days.”

Advice: That’s not a huge surprise, but still a bit alarming to hear at the same time. Cherington did express optimism that Jones can pitch again in 2024, but the Grade 2 lat sprain will keep him out of action for the foreseeable future with the team already announcing Friday he won’t throw for the next two weeks. Fantasy managers should not count on Jones returning in 2024, but treat it like an added bonus if/when it takes place. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

    • Receiving Sunday off
Murphy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Phillies.

Advice: Murphy was on the bench for Friday's series opener and will also sit for Sunday's finale after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Saturday's contest. Travis d'Arnaud will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Reynaldo Lopez. Rotowire.com Today, 8:01 am

    • Launches first career homer
Wood went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and five RBI in Saturday's 14-6 rout of the Cardinals.

Advice: It was a huge day for the Nationals' young offense, and Wood was at the center of the eruption, crushing an opposite-field three-run home run off Lance Lynn in the second inning. It took the 21-year-old only six MLB games to launch his first homer, and Wood hasn't had much trouble adjusting to big-league pitching since his promotion, batting .304 (7-for-23) with a 4:6 BB:K. • Belts game-winning homer
Semien went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: With the Rangers down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Semien got hold of a Kevin Kelly two-seamer on the inner half of the plate and drove it over the left-field wall for the game-winning hit. The second baseman snapped a 22-game homer drought with the blast, a stretch in which he'd stumbled to a .143/.196/.176 slash line. Semien's current .679 OPS on the season would be his lowest mark since the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, but he's still on pace for his fourth straight campaign with at least 20 home runs and 80 RBI, and the 33-year-old has plenty of time to kick his offense into a higher gear. • Goes deep again
Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Phillies.

Advice: Ozuna has homered in back-to-back games, and Saturday saw him produce his first multi-hit effort since June 23. The designated hitter has lost some consistency at the plate after hitting well early in June, but he's still a major power threat. Ozuna is slashing .298/.379/.571 with 23 homers, 72 RBI, 51 runs scored and 19 doubles across 87 contests this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:26 pm

    • Marcell Ozuna slugs two-run homer in win Saturday
Marcell Ozuna slugged a two-run homer in the opening inning on Saturday, helping to power the Braves to victory over the Phillies.

Advice: Ozuna tattooed a first-pitch curveball from Ranger Suárez for a 414-foot (106.0 mph EV) two-run shot that increased the Braves’ early edge to 3-0 and proved to be the difference in the ballgame. He also smacked a double in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-4. On the season, the 33-year-old slugger is now hitting .298/.379/.571 with 23 homers and 72 RBI on the season. • Ties major-league record in win
Miranda went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Astros. He tied a major-league record in the fourth inning by recording a hit in his 12th consecutive at-bat.

Advice: It's safe to say Miranda has been on fire, registering his third consecutive multi-hit effort and extending his overall hit streak to 10 games. He has enjoyed a major bounce-back campaign in 2024, slashing .328/.370/.531 with nine home runs, 43 RBI and 35 runs scored over 262 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:31 pm

    • Hits first career homer in win
Lee went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Astros.

Advice: Lee took Hunter Brown deep in the third inning for his first career major-league home run. The 23-year-old has hit the ground running with the Twins, going 7-for-15 with a home run and six RBI over his first four games. While it's unclear exactly how much time Royce Lewis (groin) will miss, the rookie has made the most of his time in the big leagues so far. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:13 pm

    • Crushed early in loss
Brown (6-6) took the loss against the Twins on Saturday, allowing seven runs on 12 hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Brown entered Saturday on an impressive run of eight consecutive quality starts, but the Twins jumped him early for seven runs over the first three innings. He battled to finish with three scoreless frames but ultimately endured his worst outing since allowing six earned runs against Cleveland on April 30. The 25-year-old owns a 4.48 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 100:36 K:BB over 92.1 innings this season and will try to rebound against the Rangers next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:49 pm
