    • Like Mike: Imanaga folds Cards in seven-inning gem
Shota Imanaga struck out six and allowed one run over seven innings on Saturday in a win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Imanaga got his first taste of the storied NL Central rivalry on Saturday afternoon at historic Wrigley Field and delivered another masterpiece, throwing a career-high 103 pitches and limiting St. Louis’ lineup to just four baserunners over seven stellar frames. He induced 14 swinging strikes, with a dozen of them coming on his splitter/sweeper combo, and allowed just seven batted balls with an exit velocity in excess of 95 mph. The 30-year-old Japanese southpaw has been a revelation this season in his Cubs debut, allowing two earned runs or fewer in 12 of his 13 starts so far. He’ll carry a microscopic 1.89 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 78/11 K/BB ratio across 76 innings (13 starts) into a home outing on Friday against the Mets. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    • Breather Saturday
Buxton is not in the starting lineup against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Buxton will get a breather after he went 7-for-15 with a home run, a triple, six RBI and four runs scored while starting the last four contests. Manuel Margot will draw the start in center field and bat eighth against Oakland. Rotowire.com Today, 8:51 am

    • Tallies ninth homer
Reynolds went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI on Friday against the Rockies.

Advice: Reynolds popped his ninth home run of the season in the first inning and also extended his hitting streak to 12 games. Though it was only his second long ball in that span, Reynolds has hit .340 with a .969 OPS to go along with eight RBI and six runs scored. Overall, he has turned in another solid season through 310 plate appearances, maintaining a .335 wOBA and 116 wRC+. Rotowire.com Today, 7:05 am

    • Quality start against O's
Suarez came away with a no-decision in Friday's 5-3 extra-innings win over the Orioles, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The southpaw delivered his ninth quality start of the season on 88 pitches (57 strikes), but Suarez was denied his 11th win in a wild affair that saw half the game's runs cross the plate after the ninth inning. Since his nine-start win streak ended in late May, the 28-year-old has posted a 3.10 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB through 20.1 innings over four outings. Suarez's next scheduled trip to the mound is a home tilt next week against the Padres. Rotowire.com Today, 6:55 am
    • Ranger Suárez allows just one run against Orioles
Ranger Suárez scattered six hits across 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision on Friday against the Orioles. He struck out six, walked two, and allowed one earned run.

Advice: Relative to the rest of his season, this was a difficult start for Suárez and he still allowed just one run against one of the best offenses in baseball. He kept the ball down, mixed all five of his pitches, and hit his spots when he needed to. Especially tough on lefties, he made Gunnar Henderson look as frustrated as he’s been all season with two nasty punch outs. Suárez’s Cy Young campaign will march on next week against the Padres. • Byron Buxton smacks RBI triple in win on Friday
Bryon Buxton went 1-for-4 and smacked an RBI triple on Friday night, helping to lead the Twins past the Athletics in extra innings.

Advice: Buxton got the Twins on the board with his run-scoring triple off of Mitch Spence in the second inning, trimming their deficit to three runs at 4-1. That would be his only hit on the evening. He has been swinging a hot bat as of late, but is still slashing a disappointing .244/.299/.395 on the season to go along with four homers, 22 RBI and three stolen bases in 51 ballgames. • Fans seven in win
Sale (9-2) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Rays.

Advice: Sale coughed up a run before recording an out in the first inning but settled in for a strong quality start in the win. He forced 17 swinging strikes, including 12 on the slider. It was Sale's second consecutive quality start and sixth in his last seven appearances. The veteran lefty has posted a 2.60 ERA over 45 innings during that span. For the season, he owns a 2.98 ERA with a 99:13 K:BB through 13 outings. Sale's next start is lined up to be on the road against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:51 pm

    • Anthony Rizzo reaches three times in win on Friday
Anthony Rizzo singled twice, walked and drove in a run on Friday night, helping to propel the Yankees to victory over the Red Sox.

Advice: The 34-year-old first baseman smacked a run-scoring single that plated Aaron Judge in the fifth inning, increasing the Bombers’ lead to 5-1. With his two-hit night, Rizzo upped his season slash to .228/.289/.347 to go with eight homers and 28 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:48 pm
    • Chris Sale strikes out seven in win
Chris Sale allowed two earned runs across seven innings in a 7-3 win over the Rays on Friday. He struck out seven and walked two.

Advice: Sale was his usual emotional and demonstrative self on the mound even after being handed a huge lead early and that intensity carried him to another great start. This was the fifth time in six starts Sale completed seven innings and the eighth time he’s done so already this season. He’s been one of the most valuable pitchers in baseball this season, stepping into the ace role for Atlanta without Spencer Strider. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:06 pm
