    • Swipes bag in loss
Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Alvarez was just one of two Astros to have more than one hit on the evening and he recorded his second steal of the year in the sixth. Alvarez now has four multi-hit efforts in his last eight games and nine total for the month of May. For the season, the 27-year-old is slashing .269/.347/.447 with nine homers, 22 RBI, 27 runs and a 23:41 BB:K in 236 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

    • Bryson Stott goes hitless against Giants
Bryson Stott, who didn’t start Monday, went 0-for-4 in the loss to the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: Stott has run extremely hot and cold this season, posting a .559 OPS over his first 25 games and a 1.242 OPS over his subsequent 18 games. Now he’s back in another drought, having gone 2-for-28 in his last eight games. The good news is that he’s struck out just three times during that span. He still projects as a useful MI in mixed leagues going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:39 pm

    • Lifts 15th homer
Soto went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Soto has been in the zone lately, going 14-for-39 (.359) with six homers and 12 RBI over his last 10 contests. He's produced five multi-hit efforts in that span. The star outfielder is up to 15 long balls this season, and he's added a .312/.408/.581 slash line, 46 RBI, 40 runs scored, four stolen bases and 11 doubles over 56 contests. • Takes blown save
Holmes allowed two hits in one-third of an inning, taking a blown save in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Holmes inherited two runners from Luke Weaver and allowed both to score on a Taylor Ward double that flipped the Yankees' one-run lead to a one-run deficit. While he wasn't charged with either run, Holmes ended up taking his third blown save of the season, two of which have come in his last four outings. Despite the recent troubles, he's still at a 1.54 ERA and 26:6 K:BB this year, though his 1.24 WHIP is less encouraging. Holmes is still the Yankees' top closing option with 15 saves on the season. • Clay Holmes takes blown save against Angels
Clay Holmes took his third blown save after giving up two hits in the eighth Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Holmes wasn’t charged with a run. He was brought in after setup man extraordinaire Luke Weaver got into trouble in a 3-2 game in the eighth and gave up a two-run double to Taylor Ward to blow the lead. He then allowed a soft infield single versus the shift before finishing the inning. Obviously, it would have been nice if Holmes couldn’t have gotten out of the jam here, but allowing one well-hit ball doesn’t reflect all that poorly on him. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:28 pm
    • Goes seven innings in loss
Pfaadt (2-4) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings to take the loss versus the Rangers on Tuesday.

Advice: Pfaadt covered at least six innings for the sixth start in a row, but this was the third time this year he's allowed at least four earned runs. Josh Smith had an RBI single in the third inning and Corey Seager continued his power surge with a three-run home run in the fifth. Pfaadt is now at a 4.16 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 63:12 K:BB through 67 innings across 11 starts. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Mets. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:15 pm
    • Jake Cronenworth goes 0-for-4 versus Marlins
Jake Cronenworth went 0-for-4 on Tuesday, leaving him 12-for-56 in his last 15 games.

Advice: Given his obvious decline in 2022 and ’23, Cronenworth was a very nice surprise to begin this year, batting .285/.349/.503 in his first 39 games. He’s slumped the last two weeks, but his exit velocity numbers are still encouraging enough to suggest that he’ll snap out of this and remain rather productive. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:13 pm

    • Logs third steal
Smith went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch one RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Smith got the Rangers on the board with an RBI single in the third inning. He also stole second in the eighth after he was plunked. Smith has gone 13-for-43 (.302) with two steals over his last 12 contests. During that stretch, Smith has been promoted to the No. 3 spot in the order. He's slashing a sharp .280/.379/.409 with two home runs, three steals, 21 RBI and 24 runs scored over 190 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:10 pm

    • Gets out of jam for ninth save
Duran picked up the save Tuesday against Kansas City, allowing two hits and no walks with a strikeout over one scoreless inning.

Advice: Duran surrendered a leadoff double to Salvador Perez and then a single to Adam Frazier, putting runners on the corners with no outs in the ninth. However, pinch-runner Dairon Blanco was caught stealing second and Duran retired MJ Melendez and Nick Loftin back-to-back to keep the Royals off the scoreboard. After taking back-to-back losses in the middle of May, Duran has rebounded with five straight saves, yielding one earned run across 4.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:37 pm
