    • Resumes running
Manager John Schneider said Thursday that Bichette (calf) has resumed running at the team's complex in Florida, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bichette had been limited to hitting and fielding drills over the past several days, but his return to running marks a significant checkpoint in his recovery from a right calf strain. He's slated to join the Blue Jays in Boston on Monday and travel with the team during their road trip, after which he could potentially head to the minor leagues on a rehab assignment. • Bo Bichette (calf) resumes running on Thursday
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Bo Bichette (calf) has progressed to running without limitations.

Advice: It’s an important milestone in Bichette’s rehabilitation process as he’s expected to continue building up towards a minor league rehab assignment with the aim of making it back to Toronto before the regular season wraps up. It wasn’t looking too promising a couple weeks ago, but it’s looking like Bichette will return at some point in early September, barring any setbacks. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Roughed up in loss
Gilbert (7-10) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing eight runs (six earned) on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Gilbert retired the first eight batters he faced in the contest before a fielding error from Leo Rivas caused the first runner to reach for the Dodgers. The right-hander would then allow a two-run double to Mookie Betts before surrendering another six runs over the next two frames. It marked Gilbert's shortest outing this month after previously going at least six innings in three straight starts. He's now lost five of his last six starts, posting a 4.89 ERA over that stretch to go along with a 38:6 K:BB. Rotowire.com Today, 7:35 am
    • New career high in homers
Soto went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run and five RBI in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Guardians.

Advice: The five RBI tied a season high, while Soto's two-run shot in the first inning off Joey Cantillo gave the 25-year-old superstar 36 homers on the year, establishing a new career high. Soto has been on fire in August, and over the last nine games he's slashing .290/.476/1.097 with eight long balls, 11 runs,13 RBI and an 11:4 BB:K. Rotowire.com Today, 6:18 am
    • Joins exclusive club
De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a walk, a home run, three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 11-7 win over Toronto.

Advice: De La Cruz's fifth-inning steal was his 60th of the season, making him just the fifth player since 1900 to record at least 20 home runs and steal 60 bases in a season -- a club that Ronald Acuna (knee) joined last season and which also includes Hall of Famers Rickey Henderson and Joe Morgan, as well as former Reds star Eric Davis. De La Cruz later belted a solo home run in the eighth inning, his 22nd of the year. The 22-year-old was sitting at 59 steals for the previous 11 games, a stretch during which he went 6-for-42 with a .196 OBP. Rotowire.com Today, 3:45 am
    • Plates four runs off bench
Gurriel went 2-for-2 with a double, a stolen base and four RBI in Wednesday's 10-8 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Gurriel began the game on the bench but still made a huge impact for Arizona's offense. He entered as a pinch hitter with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and smashed a bases-clearing double to give the Diamondbacks a one-run lead. Gurriel then provided an insurance run in the ninth with a run-scoring single. He's been swinging a hot bat of late, collecting at least one hit in six of his past seven games and notching four multi-hit efforts while batting .400 (10-for-25) with four RBI over that stretch. • Logan Gilbert struggles in loss to Dodgers
Logan Gilbert allowed eight runs -- six earned -- with seven strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Gilbert retired the first eight batters against the Dodgers before a fielding error extended the third inning. He then walked a batter, putting two on for Mookie Betts, who doubled to plate both baserunners. Los Angeles brought a third run in to score on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. Things unraveled for Gilbert in the fifth as the Dodgers brought five more runs in to score, chasing Gilbert from the game with two outs in the inning. The 27-year-old right-hander will look to bounce back when he takes a 3.21 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 162/31 K/BB ratio across 165 2/3 innings into a start against the Rays in Seattle on Tuesday. • Four hits, steal in loss
Chourio went 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 10-6 extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Chourio came into Wednesday's game 0-for-10 over his last three games. He broke out in a big way as one of three Brewers with multiple hits in the contests. Chourio is batting .324 (24-for-74) in August with six extra-base hits and six steals over 18 contests for the month. He's up to a .274/.319/.442 slash line, 15 home runs, 18 steals, 55 RBI, 59 runs scored, 17 doubles and two triples through 421 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:56 pm
    • Gives up two runs Wednesday
Gibson allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Wednesday.

Advice: Gibson induced three double plays over the first four innings to cover his mistakes. The Brewers broke through for single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, and Gibson left with the game tied at 2-2. He's posted just two quality starts over six outings since the All-Star break, allowing a total of 18 runs (17 earned) across 34.2 innings in that span. For the season, the veteran right-hander has a 4.22 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 126:52 K:BB through 136.1 innings over 24 starts. Gibson's next start is projected to come at home versus the Padres.
