• Kyle Tucker blasts 12th homer in win over Tigers
Kyle Tucker blasted his league-leading 12th home run on Friday night, helping to power the Astros to a 5-2 victory over the Tigers in the opener of their three-game set in Motown.

Advice: Tucker finally got the Astros on the board in this one with his 409-foot (106.0 mph EV) solo shot off of Casey Mize in the sixth inning. He also drew a pair of walks and scored twice in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-3. On the season, the 27-year-old superstar outfielder is slashing .270/.391/.574 to go with the aforementioned 12 long balls, 26 RBI and six stolen bases. Rotoworld 2 minutes ago

  • Matt Vierling plates two runs in loss to Astros
Matt Vierling doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Tigers and their pathetic offense over the Astros.

Advice: Vierling opened the scoring in the contest with his two-run double off of Framber Valdez in the third inning. That would be the extent of the Tigers’ offense in the contest., spoiling yet another terrific pitching performance from their starting rotation. Vierling finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .280/.304/.439 with three homers and 15 RBI. Rotoworld 3 minutes ago

  • Andy Ibáñez swipes base in loss to Astros
Andy Ibáñez went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and a stolen base on Friday evening as the Tigers fell to the visiting Astros.

Advice: The known lefty-masher collected both of his hits off of Astros’ southpaw Framber Valdez. He singled in the third inning and raced around to score on Matt Vierling’s two-run double. He also added a single in the fifth inning and swiped second base to get himself into scoring position, but the Tigers were unable to cash him in. The 31-year-old infielder has impressed in his limited action this season, slashing a robust .349/.348/.512 with two homers, seven RBI and a swipe in 45 plate appearances. Rotoworld 3 minutes ago

  • Reports to big-league club
The Angels activated Goodrum on Friday.

Advice: Goodrum had been with the Rays' Triple-A affiliate when he was DFA'd and later claimed by the Angels, but he will return to the majors as replacement depth for Ehire Adrianza, (back) who landed on the injured list Friday. Goodrum has experience at every position other than catcher, though he will likely return to the minors once Los Angeles' heavily-depleted infield unit begins returning from the IL. • Lands on injured list
The Angels placed Adrianza on the 10-day injured list Friday with back spasms, retroactive to Thursday.

Advice: Adrianza reported having problems with his lower back Friday, and the issue is apparently severe enough to warrant a trip to the injured list. Niko Goodrum will join the active roster to take Adrianza's spot after being claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay on Thursday. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

Angels placed INF Ehire Adrianza on the 10-day injured list with back spasms.

Advice: The Angels already have Anthony Rendon, Luis Rengifo and Brandon Drury on the injured list, so why not place another infielder there for good measure. Luckily, Niko Goodrum arrived on Friday and will join the active roster to replace Adrianza. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

  • Pirates recall Nick Gonzales from Triple-A
Pirates recalled INF Nick Gonzales from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: The 24-year-old infielder was punishing the baseball once again at the Triple-A level, hitting .358 (43-for-120) with four homers in his first 30 games. He’ll once again be given a shot at securing the team’s everyday job at second base. Alika Williams was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Today, 5:06 pm

  • Zack Gelof (oblique) begins rehab assignment
Zack Gelof (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

Advice: The dynamic 24-year-old infielder will play in games on Friday and on Sunday before being re-evaluated. If all goes well, there’s a chance that he could return to the A’s lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Astros in Houston. Before landing on the injured list, Gelof was hitting .196/.260/.337 with three homers, seven RBI and four stolen bases in 101 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:57 pm
