    • MacKenzie Gore strikes out 10 in seven innings
      MacKenzie Gore struck out 10 Marlins across seven innings in an 8-1 win on Friday night. He allowed just one earned run and walked one batter. He earned the win.

      Advice: Gore was downright dazzling in this one. He challenged the Marlins again and again with his fastball high in the zone and they swung and missed at it 12 times in 35 tries. His heater is special sitting 96 MPH from the left side with tons of ride. He’s put an emphasis on throwing it up in the zone this season and that has helped him reach new heights. This was his third start so far with double-digit punch outs and he’s allowed more than three earned runs just once. His breakout is indisputable at this point. Rotoworld Friday, 6:13 pm
       
    • Eduardo Rodriguez getting follow-up MRI Saturday
      Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) will undergo a follow-up MRI exam on Saturday.

      Advice: Rodriguez has increased his throwing distance to 105 feet in recent days and if all goes well with Saturday’s check-up, he could be cleared to throw off of a mound for the first time. The Diamondbacks are taking every possible precaution here, but they’re hopeful that Rodriguez will be able to join the rotation at some point around the All-Star break.     • Racks up 13 strikeouts Thursday
      Crochet allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out 13 batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Thursday.

      Advice: Crochet was absolutely dominant in the outing, inducing 24 swinging strikes and finishing with a career-high 13 punchouts. The only run against the southpaw came via Tyler Locklear's first career homer in the fifth inning, and Crochet was in line for the victory before Michael Kopech blew a save opportunity in the ninth. Despite a few rough starts in April, Crochet has been a revelation for the White Sox and for fantasy managers this season. Over his past nine starts, he's recorded a 1.36 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 76:11 K:BB over 53 innings. Crochet is tied with Tyler Glasnow for the major-league lead with 116 punchouts on the campaign.       Severino allowed one run on seven hits and three walks while striking out two batters over six innings in a no-decision versus Miami on Thursday.

      Advice: Severino recorded only one 1-2-3 inning and punched out a season-low two batters, but he held the Marlins scoreless until Jake Burger belted a solo homer in the sixth frame. It was the third time in his past four outings that the veteran hurler has yielded exactly one run, and he has a 2.39 ERA and 1.10 WHIP despite a mediocre 16:7 K:BB over 26.1 innings during that span. Severino is on pace for a career-worst 6.9 K/9, but he's been solid otherwise in his first season as a Met, posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.18 WHIP across 78 frames. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:15 am
       
    • Garrett Crochet weaves gem with 13 strikeouts
      Garrett Crochet struck out 13 batters over seven innings of one-run baseball but didn’t pick up a decision Thursday against the Mariners.

      Advice: Crochet was absolutely dominant while taking advantage of a team that strikes out at an enormous rate, so the results are equally impressive and not surprising. He did allow a solo homer to Tyler Locklear, but outside of that and a Victor Robles double, it was smooth sailing for the 24-year-old. The 13 punchouts are a season-high, but this is a hurler who has already fanned 116 batters in just-under 83 innings with a 3.16 ERA. Crochet is an absolute must-start regardless of opponent, and he gets the Astros on Wednesday. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:23 pm
       
    • Severino allows one in no-decision Thursday
      Luis Severino allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Mets’ 3-2 victory over the Marlins on Thursday.

      Advice: Severino gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out two. He’s allowed only one run in three of his last four starts. Severino’s two strikeouts were a season-low for him. His ERA is now 3.12 on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rangers on the road next week.

    • Struggles early in no-decision
      Pivetta did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts over four innings.

      Advice: It was a rough night from the start, as Pivetta allowed the first three batters he faced to reach base and surrendered two runs in each of the first and third innings. The four walks were a season high, and he allowed at least one baserunner in every inning. Pivetta has been inconsistent this season, with six starts of two or fewer earned runs and three starts yielding five. On the season, Pivetta owns a 3.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 55:13 K:BB in nine starts and lines up against the Blue Jays next Monday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:59 pm

      Nick Pivetta surrendered four runs in four innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Phillies.

      Advice: Pivetta walked four tonight. He’s issued 11 free passes in his last four starts after totaling two in his first five. Pivetta also struck out four tonight.     • Start pushed back to Friday
      Gore won't start Thursday against the Tigers in Detroit as previously scheduled and will instead take the hill Friday versus the Marlins in Washington while he recovers from a fingernail issue, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

      Advice: The Nationals will have Patrick Corbin take the hill Thursday in order to build in an extra day of recovery time for Gore. Though Gore is currently in line to take the hill Friday, fantasy managers will want to ensure he hasn't suffered a setback with the fingernail issue leading up to the series opener with Miami that may prompt the Nationals to push him back in the schedule.
