    • Brandon Pfaadt strikes out eight, allows one run
Brandon Pfaadt struck out eight while limiting the Angels to one run in six innings to get a win Thursday.

Advice: Pfaadt did have some control issues with three walks and 62-of-108 pitches landing for strikes, but he was able to work out of jams thanks to the punchouts. It’s a much improved effort from last weekend when he gave up nine hits and five runs against San Diego. Pfaadt has shown almost zero consistency in his MLB career — at least not in a positive way — but the stuff is here for him to be a successful fantasy option. His next chance for quality results comes next week against the Nats. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

    • Griffin Canning charged for four in loss to D-Backs
Griffin Canning gave up four runs in six innings while picking up a loss to the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Canning gave up a three-spot in the first and another was charged to his right arm — and the rest of him — in the seventh after he exited. Between that the right-hander was solid while allowing just four total hits, but it’s tough to get a strong fantasy outing when you have three-run innings. Canning has given up his fair share of crooked numbers with an ERA of 4.76 over the first two-plus months of 2024. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago
    • Michael Lorenzen limits Dodgers to one over seven
Michael Lorenzen held the Dodgers to just a run while firing seven innings to get a win Thursday.

Advice: Lorenzen allowed just a solo homer to Andy Pages. The right-handed hurler wasn’t dominant with just two strikeouts, but he wasn’t challenged often while allowing four hits with one walk. Lorenzen has mostly been solid when available for the Rangers, and this outing lowers his ERA to 2.86. He gets the Mets on Tuesday, if Texas doesn’t make adjustments to the rotation. • Works 4.2 innings
Miller (shoulder) allowed five earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four across 4.2 innings in a rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Advice: This was likely Miller's final rebab appearance before being activated from the injured list. While the surface stats weren't strong, his fastball was measured between 96 and 99 mph and he threw 51 of 93 pitches for strikes. If the Dodgers elect to keep him on five days rest and bring him back to the big-league roster, Miller would make his return at Coors Field on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 9:33 pm

    • Michael Kopech blows save, gets win
Michael Kopech blew a save but picked up a win while allowing a run over an inning of work against the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Kopech gets the win despite allowing a game-tying homer to Julio Rodriguez with two outs in the ninth. The win stat has zero flaws and anyone who suggests otherwise is providing falsehoods. Kopech continues to show the stuff to miss bats, but the command leaves way too much to be desired to completely trust. Rotoworld Today, 9:23 pm

    • Emerson Hancock goes seven strong in no-decision
Emerson Hancock held the White Sox to two runs in seven innings in a no-decision Thursday.

Advice: Hancock was making a spot start for the Mariners as they pushed back their rotation a day, and the results were mostly solid. He gave up back-to-back homers in the third to Andrew Vaughn and Luis Robert Jr., but he didn’t see anyone else cross the plate. Hancock has been a mediocre option when getting the ball in 2024, but there is certainly talent in his right arm. He could start again next week against Cleveland. Rotoworld Today, 9:23 pm

    • Garrett Crochet weaves gem with 13 strikeouts
Garrett Crochet struck out 13 batters over seven innings of one-run baseball but didn’t pick up a decision Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Crochet was absolutely dominant while taking advantage of a team that strikes out at an enormous rate, so the results are equally impressive and not surprising. He did allow a solo homer to Tyler Locklear, but outside of that and a Victor Robles double, it was smooth sailing for the 24-year-old. The 13 punchouts are a season-high, but this is a hurler who has already fanned 116 batters in just-under 83 innings with a 3.16 ERA. Crochet is an absolute must-start regardless of opponent, and he gets the Astros on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 9:23 pm

    • Likely stuck at Triple-A, for now
Scott allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six over 3.2 innings for Triple-A Syracuse against Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.

Advice: Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said earlier this week -- prior to Scott's outing Wednesday -- that the plan was for Scott to remain at Syracuse for the time being, per Alex Smith of SNY. "We're still having conversations, but with all the off days we have coming up, we feel like a five-man rotation is what's best for us moving forward," Mendoza said. The 24-year-old Scott has struck out 49 batters in 34 innings with Syracuse this season, though he has also struggled to keep the ball in the yard, both at Triple-A and in his brief time in the majors so far. He should be up again this season, but the organization seems to be pumping the brakes on an imminent return. Rotowire.com Today, 8:03 pm

    • Two innings with Durham
Springs (elbow) completed two innings in a rehab outing with Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Springs faced the minimum of six batters while giving up only one hit and striking out three. He threw 18 pitches while averaging 92.1 mph with his fastball. Springs is tracking toward a mid-July return and will likely appear in several more games with Durham. Rotowire.com Today, 7:54 pm
