    • James Wood batting third for Nationals Wednesday
James Wood will start in left field and bat third for the Nationals on Wednesday night against the Mets.

Advice: It only took two games for the 21-year-old phenom to slide into a premium spot in the Nationals’ lineup, and as long as he hits he should remain there indefinitely. The premium spot in the order should lead to ample counting stats to go along with his dazzling blend of power and speed — making him a must-add in all formats for the remainder of the season. • Absent from lineup
Rice is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Reds.

Advice: With southpaw Andrew Abbott on the hill for the Reds, the Yankees are going with right-handed-hitting J.D. Davis at first base. The left-handed-hitting Rice has now started one of four games versus lefties since Davis was acquired. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:04 pm

    • Returns to action
Thomas started in center field, batted eighth and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Thomas played his first game after being activated off the injured list. He missed three months due to a hamstring injury, and the rehab process lingered, including a setback early in May. Thomas has habitually struggled to hit left-handers, but he should be a lineup staple against right-handers. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:01 am

    • Logs steal in win
Schuemann went 1-for-2 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Angels.

Advice: Schuemann has a steal in two of his last three games, though he's hitting a meager .149 (7-for-47) over his last 15 contests. He's maintained a starting role at shortstop, though his .227/.316/.315 slash line for the year is far from impressive. He's added three home runs, 15 RBI, 26 runs scored and six thefts across 63 games. Armando Alvarez is Schuemann's biggest threat for playing time until Darell Hernaiz (ankle) can return, which is likely to be after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:35 pm

    • Homer, steal in win
Rooker went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Angels.

Advice: Rooker has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 8-for-26 (.308) with three homers in that span. He offers more power than speed -- with Tuesday's performance, he has 16 long balls and three steals across 72 contests this year. The 29-year-old has added a .261/.338/.515 slash line with 48 RBI, 30 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples as the Athletics' top designated hitter. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:21 pm

    • Brent Rooker has jack and a bag in win over Angels
Brent Rooker socked a dinger and stole a base on Tuesday evening as the Athletics triumphed over the visiting Angels.

Advice: The 29-year-old slugger opened the scoring in the ballgame with his 405-foot (108.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Angels’ starter Jose Soriano in the fourth inning. Rooker also drew a walk in the fifth inning and swiped second base, but he was left stranded there. He finished the night 1-for-3 and is now hitting a respectable .261/.338/.515 to go along with 16 long balls, 48 RBI and three stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:07 pm

    • Nimmo has two hits, two RBI off bench
Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-3 with two RBIs after coming off the bench in a win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: Nimmo didn’t start the game after nursing a head injury when he fell in his hotel room on Sunday night and cut his head. However, he certainly seems to be healthy, knocking in a run on a single in the eighth to tie the game and then giving the Mets a two-run cushion in the 10th inning with an RBI double. Over the last six weeks, Nimmo is hitting .283/.377/.496 with six home runs, 27 runs scored, 21 RBI, and three steals in 33 games. He remains underrated in fantasy baseball. • CJ Abrams has two hits in loss
CJ Abrams went 2-for-5 and was caught stealing in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Abrams has now been caught stealing 10 times on the season, which is an incredibly high total that may prompt the Nationals to work on him being less aggressive on the basepaths. The rest of Abrams’ profile is very fantasy-friendly. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:09 pm

    • D-backs activate Gabriel Moreno for Tuesday return
Diamondbacks activated C Gabriel Moreno from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Moreno is officially back for Tuesday’s series opener against the division-rival Dodgers following a nearly two-week absence due to a left thumb sprain. Rotoworld Tuesday, 3:38 pm
