    • Retreating to bench
Rosario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario will head to the bench after he had started in each of the previous four games while seeing time at three different spots in the infield (second base, third base and shortstop). Though the right-handed-hitting Rosario should remain a mainstay in the lineup versus lefties, his opportunities to play against right-handed pitching could be more limited moving forward after the Rays activated the lefty-hitting Jonathan Aranda from the injured list Tuesday. • Not in Wednesday's lineup
Singleton is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Singleton has taken over as the Astros' regular first baseman since Jose Abreu's demotion, but he'll begin this one on the bench. Mauricio Dubon is getting the start at first base Wednesday. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Austin Riley (side) still out of action Wednesday
Austin Riley (side) remains out of the Braves’ starting lineup for Wednesday nights matchup against the CUbs.

Advice: It’ll be the third straight game that the 27-year-old slugger has missed since leaving Sunday’s contest with inflammation in his left side. Once again, Zack Short will draw a start at third base and will bat ninth against right-hander Javier Assad and the Cubs. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

    • Jordan Westburg homers as leadoff man
Batting leadoff for the first time, Jordan Westburg went 2-for-5 with a homer versus the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Advice: Manager Brandon Hyde indicated before the game that this wasn’t a permanent move. Westburg, though, has a case for hitting high in the order regularly. He’s batting .301/.354/.534 with seven homers and five steals in 159 plate appearances. Prior to today, he had hit third once but never higher than fifth otherwise. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

    • Justin Turner comes off bench in return
Justin Turner returned to action Wednesday, finishing 0-for-2 off the bench against the Orioles.

Advice: Turner missed the previous two games because of illness. He’ll now have another day to recuperate, as the Jays don’t play Thursday. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

    • Exits game with bruised knee
Santander was removed from Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays due to a bruised knee, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Santander banged up his knee when he collided with the outfield wall and then aggravated it on a double and a slide in the eighth inning before being lifted in the ninth. It doesn't sound like a big concern, and it's possible the Orioles' scheduled off day will be enough rest for Santander. Consider him day-to-day. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

    • Sitting in third straight game
Riley (side) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: He'll miss out on a third straight start while he manages left side inflammation, but with the benefit of some added rest in the form of a team off day Thursday, Riley could be healthy enough to rejoin the starting nine for Friday's series opener versus the Padres. Zack Short will make another start at third base in Riley's place Wednesday. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

    • Trea Turner (hamstring) takes ground balls
Trea Turner (hamstring) took ground balls and did some agility drills on the field on Wednesday without any issue.

Advice: Turner told reporters after landing on the injured list in early May that he would miss at least six weeks with his left hamstring strain. He appears to be making excellent progress in his recovery though, and I don’t think it would surprise anyone at this point if he beat that initial estimate. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

    • Anthony Santander leaves game with bruised knee
Anthony Santander was pulled from Wednesday’s contest against the Blue Jays due to a bruised knee.

Advice: Santander initially suffered the injury when he crashed into the outfield wall in the third inning on Wednesday. He then aggravated if further while sliding into second base during the eighth inning. It doesn’t sound like it’s anything that should require a trip to the injured list, but there’s a chance that the 29-year-old slugger will be held out of the lineup an extra day or two to be on the safe side.
