    • Clubs ninth homer
Schneider went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: The 25-year-old took Nick Pivetta deep in the seventh inning, but Toronto was in a 7-2 hole at that point. Schneider has been struggling in June, slashing .170/.224/.302 through 16 games, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him moved down in the order from his usual spot hitting first or second. On the season, he's batting .225 with nine homers, three steals, 31 runs and 34 RBI in 65 contests. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago

    • Ready for rehab assignment
Faedo (hip) is scheduled to join Triple-A Toledo this week to begin a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Faedo has been on the injured list for just under two weeks with right hip inflammation, so he'll likely need just one or two rehab appearances before he's cleared to rejoin the Detroit bullpen. After being deployed mostly in middle relief or long relief earlier in the season, Faedo had moved his way into higher-leverage spots prior to landing on the IL. In his last 11 appearances before being deactivated, Faedo notched one win and six holds. Rotowire.com 58 minutes ago

    • Three hits in Monday's loss
Clement went 3-for-4 in Monday's loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Getting the nod at third base and batting eighth, the utility infielder out together his fourth straight multi-hit performance in a starting role. Clement's gone 9-for-13 over that blistering stretch with three doubles, a homer, two RBI and three runs as he takes advantage of Bo Bichette's absence to due to a calf issue. Even when Bichette is cleared to return, Clement's hot streak will likely keep him in the starting lineup for a Blue Jays squad scrambling to find offense wherever it can. Rotowire.com Today, 7:32 am

    • Shaky in return
Lawrence allowed two earned runs on two hits and one walk while striking out two across 1.1 innings Monday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Lawrence was activated from the injured list Monday after missing around three weeks with a shoulder injury. He recorded the final out in the eighth inning without issue, but he then allowed the first two batters of the ninth frame to reach base -- leading to his two earned runs. Lawrence was projected to be Colorado's primary closer entering the season, but he has only two saves and two holds while struggling to a 6.35 ERA and 1.85 WHIP in 21 appearances. • Will be out beyond minimum 10 days
Baez (spine) is without a precise timeline to return from the injured list, but the Tigers are preparing for him to miss more than the minimum 10 days, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Baez's stint on the IL is retroactive to June 9, making him eligible for activation at any point after Tuesday. However, the Tigers don't seem eager to rush Baez back from lumbar spine inflammation, especially after the shortstop had dealt with back pain for much of last season. Baez visited a doctor in Florida this past weekend and received an injection in his back to alleviate the inflammation, and if the shot took the desired effect, he could be cleared to take the first meaningful step forward in his recovery by resuming baseball activities at some point later this week, per MLB.com. Zach McKinstry and Ryan Kreidler have formed a platoon at shortstop since Baez went on the shelf. Rotowire.com Today, 7:28 am

    • Homers against Dodgers
Stallings went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Monday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Stallings has taken over as the Rockies' primary catcher in the absence of Elias Diaz (calf). He's started six of the team's last seven games, collecting seven hits across 18 at-bats with three RBI and four runs scored. Stallings has also hit cleanup in the past two contests. • Without timeline for return
Carpenter hasn't resumed baseball activities since being diagnosed with a lumbar spine stress fracture in late May, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Carpenter was placed on the 10-day injured list May 29 with lumbar spine inflammation, only for his diagnosis to change a couple days later once he underwent further testing. Three weeks after landing on the shelf, Carpenter remains limited to doing what manager A.J. Hinch described as therapy work, so the 26-year-old still looks to be at least a couple weeks away from being ready for game action. During Carpenter's ongoing absence, Matt Vierling has taken hold of a full-time role in the outfield, and Justyn-Henry Malloy has settled in as the Tigers' primary designated hitter. • Goes yard for first big-league hit
Jones went 1-for-1 with a solo home run Monday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Jones was promoted to the majors June 6 and has made just one start since. However, he entered Monday's game as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning and tallied his first big-league hit with a solo home run. Jones will almost certainly remain a bench bat moving forward. • Nabs first win
Hernandez (1-0) picked up the win Monday over the Tigers, giving up a hit and a walk in a scoreless eighth inning. he struck out two.

Advice: With the score tied 1-1, the right-hander faced the heart of Detroit's order and escaped a one-out jam by fanning Gio Urshela and Akil Baddoo. Hernandez has been effective in four big-league appearances this year, allowing just an unearned run in four innings with a 5:3 K:BB, but he's unlikely to see more than occasional high-leverage usage in Atlanta's deep bullpen.
