    • Another six shutout innings
Yamamoto (3-1) earned the win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, allowing five hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Yamamoto allowed the leadoff man to reach in back-to-back innings to open the contest, but still managed to keep Arizona's lineup at bay over six frames. The right-hander has now hurled 12 scoreless innings over his last two starts and has won each of his last three decisions after imploding in his MLB debut. He's also logged quality starts in three straight. Rotowire.com Today, 6:01 am
    • Mason Miller silences Pirates in non-save spot
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

Advice: Miller got the call to protect a four-run lead in the final frame after needing 16 pitches to close out Tuesday’s victory less than 24 hours ago. He got Jack Suwinski to ground out and fanned Henry Davis before coaxing a game-ending ground out from Ke’Bryan Hayes. He averaged 100.8 mph on his fastball and needed just 10 pitches to spin a perfect frame. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has reeled off 12 consecutive scoreless appearances since April 2, and has converted eight saves to go along with a microscopic 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 29/4 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings of work. Simply put, he’s one of the best relievers in baseball already. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:07 pm

    • Won't start against lefty
Lux is not included in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Lux will begin the matchup in the dugout as the Diamondbacks start their third straight lefty in Jordan Montgomery on Wednesday. Miguel Rojas will get his second consecutive start at second base and bat seventh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:59 pm

    • Out against lefty
Outman isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting outfielder will begin on the bench for the third straight game as the Dodgers take on another southpaw in Jordan Montgomery. The outfield will comprise of Teoscar Hernandez, Andy Pages and Chris Taylor as Outman watches the start from the dugout. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:55 pm
    • Kenta Maeda fans six, gets first victory
Kenta Maeda limited the Cardinals to one run in six innings and struck out five in the Tigers’ 4-1 victory Wednesday.

Advice: It’s his first win in six tries this season. Pitching with a couple of extra days of rest, Maeda had a little more velocity today, topping out at 91.6 mph, and he wound up with a nice 34% CSW in the 79-pitch outing. He’ll pitch in Cleveland next time out, making him a mediocre mixed-league play. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:08 pm
    • Sharp against Cards
Maeda (1-1) earned the win Wednesday against St. Louis, allowing one run on four hits over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: A Willson Contreras solo home run in the fourth inning was the lone mark against Maeda on Tuesday as the veteran right-hander cruised to his first win with the Tigers. After a brutal start to the year, Maeda's now allowed just one run on seven hits and no walks in his last two outings (11 innings). He's lowered his ERA to 5.02 with a 1.22 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB across six starts this season. Maeda will look to keep his momentum going in his next outing, currently lined up for early next week in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:48 pm
    • Resuming rehab assignment
Lowe (oblique/hamstring) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe, who opened the season on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain, was expected to be activated last weekend, but his return to the 26-man active roster was delayed after he experienced right hamstring tightness in a rehab game at Durham. However, the feeling is that Lowe experienced only a minor setback, and he's since been cleared to return to game action. Lowe will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis at Durham to determine when he can return from the IL to make his season debut for the big club. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:56 am

    • Josh Lowe to start second rehab assignment Thurs.
Rays sent Josh Lowe (hamstring) on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham for Thursday.

Advice: It’s been a frustrating process for the Rays and fantasy managers who have Lowe rostered. The 26-year-old outfielder was supposed to be activated from the injured list this past weekend, but hamstring tightness while rehabbing delayed his return. Lowe will rehab with Durham on Thursday and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis. Overall, it’s not what managers want to hear but it’s better to have him 100% healthy than risk another injury that could be prevented while with Tampa Bay. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:54 am

    • Blanks reds over five innings
Darvish (1-1) grabbed a win over the Reds on Tuesday, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits in the outing. He struck three and did not walk a batter.

Advice: Darvish was finally able to pick up his first win of the season and help the Padres end a five-game losing streak. Tuesday was his first shutout effort since July 29 of last year. He was efficient, needing 70 pitches to get through five while inducing a bunch of weak contact. His strikeout numbers remain low in comparison to his career numbers, as he's now struck out three or fewer batters in three of his six starts so far. Still, Tuesday's outing was exactly what the Padres needed out of him, and he'll take a 3.45 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB into his next outing, which projects to be against the Cubs at the beginning of next week.
