    • Cora: Chris Martin likely heading to IL on Tuesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Chris Martin could go on the injured list shortly.

Advice: No word yet on the specifics of the issue, but it sounds like Martin is headed to the injured list with reliever Zack Kelly on his way to Fenway Park from cross-state Triple-A Worcester. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago

    • Could be headed to IL
Martin could be placed on the injured list prior to Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It's not clear exactly what injury Martin is dealing with. He last pitched on May 30, giving up three runs on a couple home runs. If a roster move is indeed made, Martin is expected to be replaced by Zack Kelly. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Nathaniel Lowe returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Tigers
Nathaniel Lowe is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Lowe is back at first base and batting fifth for the first time in three contests as he got an extended break to reset mentally. The 28-year-old slugger is batting .256 (34-for-133) with two homers and one steal in 39 games since making his season debut back in late April. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

    • Swipes ninth bag
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Hitting leadoff against Washington lefty MacKenzie Gore, Lindor got right back up after seeing an 11-game hitting streak snapped Sunday. The veteran shortstop has swiped three bags over the last five contests, giving him nine steals on the season, and over his last 15 games, he's slashing .339/.397/.516 with five doubles, two homers, seven runs and eight RBI as he puts a sluggish start to the season behind him. • Moves up in order
Moreno batted second and went 1-for-4 in Monday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Arizona manager Torey Lovullo tweaked the lineup against a left-handed starter, dropping Corbin Carroll to eighth and moving Moreno up the order. The manager told Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports that Carroll is expected to slide down the order against lefties beyond Monday's game. The move is not a recognition of Moreno's hot bat -- he's batting .235 with a .643 OPS -- and is more about Carroll's struggles. Rotowire.com Today, 4:29 am

    • Goes deep, swipes bag
Machado went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Machado's solo shot in the first inning was the lone run for the Padres in Monday's loss. He was intentionally walked twice and also stole his fourth base of the year. The long ball snapped a brutal 26-game drought since his last homer May 3; during that cold streak, he posted a .591 OPS. Machado is now slashing .242/.307/.372 with 17 extra-base hits and 32 RBI through 244 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:04 pm

    • Strikes out six in no-decision
Skubal did not factor into the decision in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Skubal surrendered a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien in the first inning but held the Rangers in check over the next five and left the mound in a 1-1 tie. Skubal allowed at least one baserunner in each inning, but he was still able to earn a quality start despite not having his best stuff. Through 12 starts, Skubal, who has not walked more than two batters in any game this season, has posted a sparkling 1.97 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 86:13 K:BB and tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Brewers on Sunday. • Skubal strikes out six in no-decision Monday
Tarik Skubal allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Skubal gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six. He managed to earn a quality start for the ninth time in 12 starts this season. Skubal allowed a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien, but that was the only run the Rangers could muster against him. His ERA is now 1.97 as he continues to push for the AL Cy Young award. The 27-year-old left-hander will face the Brewers at home this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:29 pm

    • Losing work against lefties
Lowe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Though Lowe owns a 113 wRC+ against left-handers for his career, he's struggled to maintain that level of effectiveness in those matchups so far this season. Over 55 plate appearances versus lefties in 2024, Lowe is slashing .250/.327/.292 (80 wRC+). At least for the time being, manager Bruce Bochy is seemingly viewing Lowe as a platoon player. The first baseman is on the bench for the third game in a row, with the Rangers facing lefties in each of those contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:06 pm
