      Neris earned a save against the Brewers on Saturday, allowing one hit and issuing one walk while striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.

      Advice: Neris entered in the ninth inning with Chicago holding a two-run lead and got into a bit of hot water when two of the first three hitters he faced reach base. However, the veteran reliever bounced back to strike out the final two batters of the frame. Neris secured his 11th save of the season and recorded his third straight scoreless outing. That may have helped him steady his grip on the closer role to some extent after he blew two saves and gave up seven earned runs across 2.2 frames over three appearances between June 11 and June 17.       Machado went 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Saturday's 11-1 rout of the Red Sox.

      Will Smith went 3-for-6 with a double and three RBI on Saturday night as the Dodgers outlasted the Giants in 11 innings.

      Advice: Smith beat out an infield single in the fourth inning that drove in a run and knotted the score at five runs apiece. He then delivered the game’s biggest hit in the 11th inning, smacking a two-run double that gave the Dodgers a two-run lead and put them well on their way to victory.       Nathaniel Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in a loss Saturday to the Orioles.

      Advice: Lowe also doubled. The homer was a two-run shot that got the Rangers back in the game to make it a 5-4 score in the sixth. The 28-year-old has not shown a ton of power thus far in 2024, as his .262 average and .348 on-base percentage have been dragged down by just four roundtrippers and a .369 slugging mark over 214 at-bats.       De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals.

      Advice: De La Cruz hit an RBI double in the third inning and followed it up with his 40th steal of the season. He then tripled and scored in a six-run fifth frame for the Reds. After going eight games without a steal, the 22-year-old has now swiped a bag in three consecutive contests and continues to lead the league in the category. He did strike out three times to bring his league-leading season total to 110 but is still hitting a solid .255 with 14 home runs, 37 RBI and 55 runs scored over 355 plate appearances.       Gray (9-5) took the loss against the Reds on Saturday, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

      Advice: Gray allowed two runs in the third inning then endured a rough fifth frame, loading the bases and yielding a run on an error by Nolan Arenado. He was pulled after the error at 92 pitches, and each of the three inherited runners came around to score before the end of the frame. Gray generated a solid 14 swinging strikes on 92 pitches but failed to complete five innings for just the second time in 15 starts this season. It’s the first multi-homer game for the 31-year-old in 2024, but five of his 10 homers have come thus far in the month of June. Machado’s also picked up multiple hits in his last three games and six times since June 19, and appears to be righting the ship after a disappointing first two-plus months of the campaign.
