    • Randy Vásquez strikes out six over 4 1/3 innings
Randy Vásquez allowed one earned run over 4 1/3 innings while striking out six in the Padres’ loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Vásquez’s lone blemish of the night came on a solo home run from Cody Bellinger. He would be pulled with one out in the fifth after allowing a single to Miguel Amaya, but managed to lower his ERA to 4.50 on the season and has allowed one earned run in two of his three starts on the year. His six strikeouts marks a new career-high for Vásquez, who will make his next start on Monday against the Rockies. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • Volpe homers in win over Astros
Anthony Volpe went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Volpe hit a two-run homer off Justin Verlander in the fourth inning that traveled 354 feet and left the bat at 99.6 mph. He also had a 104.6 mph lineout and is starting to see the ball a little bit better after a long cold streak. Coming into the day, Volpe was slashing just .163/.247/.238 over his previous 20 games with just one home run and a 29 percent strikeout rate. It’s pretty clear that the torrid start to the season was just a hot streak, but Volpe still makes quality contact and has been operating as the Yankees’ leadoff hitter, which will continue to boost his fantasy value. He’ll get hot again but also expect some cold streaks mixed in as he continues to fine-tune his approach at the MLB level. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Doubles, scores twice in win
Rogers went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's 11-7 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Rogers was part of an offensive onslaught for Detroit, and he extended his hitting streak to six games in the process. The catcher is still batting just .194 for the season, though he was batting .125 before his current hitting streak. More concerning is the fact that Rogers only has two home runs through 23 games this year after clubbing 21 long balls in 107 contests last season. However, his recent hot streak provides some hope that the power will come. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Rafaela drives in one run on two-hit night
Ceddanne Rafaela went 2-for-4 with one RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Braves.

Advice: Rafaela singled in the sixth with the bases loaded to score Vaughn Grissom, tying the game at 2-2 after a Reese McGuire walk forced home their first run of the evening. Rafaela is slashing a meager .211/.255/.379 on the year but is batting .263 over the last two weeks. He’s heating up a bit after getting off to a slow start, but shouldn’t be counted on in fantasy outside of the most desperate situations. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

    • Luis Gil handles Astros in win on Tuesday
Luis Gil allowed one run on one hit in six innings in a win over the Astros.

Advice: Gil was effectively wild on Tuesday, which is something we’ve come to expect from the 25-year-old. He walked four on the day and had just a 42 percent zone rate; however, he also had a 23 percent whiff rate and struck out five batters. Much of Gil’s success came on the changeup which had a 40 percent whiff rate, while his four-seam fastball was his most effective strike pitch. At some point, Gil is not going to be able to keep walking this tightrope, but he has a 2.92 ERA on the season and has two solid outings coming up against the Rays and White Sox. • Kelenic hits first homer of season vs. Red Sox
Jarred Kelenic went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI in the Braves’ win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: It took 73 at bats for Kelenic to finally hit his first homer of the season. His two-run blast in the third gave the Braves an early 2-0 lead, but the Red Sox would battle back before the Braves finally went up 4-2. Kelenic has struggled to make the most of his platooned role, and can’t be relied on by fantasy managers at this time. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

    • Logan O’Hoppe has four hits in win
Logan O’Hoppe went 4-for-5 with two RBI in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: All four of O’Hoppe’s hits were singles and only one of them was hit harder than 95 mph, but the 24-year-old won’t be complaining. The catcher was a popular breakout candidate this season and while he hasn’t set the world on fire, his .279/.330/.404 triple slash is solid from the catcher position. He’s not going to get too many RBI opportunities in a depleted lineup, but his 13 on the season is better than nothing. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

    • Pillar homers twice in second start with Angels
Kevin Pillar went 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Pillar was signed by the Angles last week after hitting .160 (4-for-25) with one homer and two steals in 17 games this season for the White Sox before being designated for assignment. Tuesday was his second start for the Angels, but he made it count, blasting a 403-foot home run at 103.6 mph of the bat in the fourth inning and then a 396-foot home run at 101.8 mph in the seventh inning. It’s likely just a one-off performance by Pillar but with both Mickey Moniak and Jo Adell struggling of late, Pillar could be playing himself into a bit more playing time. He’s still best left on the wire in all league types for now. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Patrick Sandoval lights out in win over Pirates
Patrick Sandoval threw seven shutout innings in a win over the Pirates, allowing just three hits and striking out seven.

Advice: Sandoval came into the game with a 3.84 SIERA compared to a 5.91 ERA, so there were a few signs that his surface-level stats didn’t reflect his true performance. He had also allowed a career-low barrel rate while registering a career-high strikeout rate. That positive regression seemed to strike on Tuesday as he registered a tremendous 34 percent whiff rate and 37 percent CSW. All of his pitches performed well, but his changeup and slider were particularly sharp in the outing. He now has a 4.85 ERA and can be started in deeper leagues this weekend against a solid Royals lineup. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago
