    • Trevor Larnach out of lineup Saturday vs. Boston
Trevor Larnach is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Red Sox.

Advice: The Twins are stacking their lineup with right-handed bats against left-hander Brennan Bernardino with seven hitters who will hit from the right-side. Ryan Jeffers will hit leadoff as the designated hitter, and Christian Vazquez will handle catching duties while hitting seventh. Rotoworld Today, 7:21 am

    • Blows save in extras
Iglesias blew the save Friday against the Dodgers. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.

Advice: Iglesias entered the bottom of the tenth inning tasked with retiring the top of the Dodgers order to earn a save. He promptly retired Mookie Betts on two pitches before yielding a game-tying RBI single to Shohei Ohtani. However, since the automatic runner scored, the Atlanta closer escaped Friday night without a hit to his ERA, which now stands at 2.03 over 13.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:35 pm
    • Launches fifth homer
McMahon went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: The 29-year-old led off the sixth inning by hammering a Martin Perez changeup out of PNC Park completely and into the Allegheny River, becoming only the second Colorado player in history to accomplish the feat after Todd Helton back in 2001. Three of McMahon's five homers this year have come in the last eight games, and the power surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .319/.407/.513 with 13 runs and 19 RBI in 32 contests. • Ryan McMahon goes 2-for-5, homers in win
Ryan McMahon went 2-for-5 and hit his fifth homer Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Both hits were against a lefty in Martín Pérez. If McMahon were on a better team, he’d probably be a platoon player at this point, as he was bad against lefties in 2022 and even worse last season. This year, though, he’s batting .350 with two homers in 40 at-bats versus southpaws. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:49 pm

    • Excellent vs. Milwaukee
Wesneski didn't factor into the decision Friday, allowing three hits and two walks over 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Wesneski was dominant Friday, shutting out the Brewers while matching his career high with eight punchouts. However, the Cubs bullpen couldn't maintain a 1-0 lead as Wesneski was eventually stuck with a no-decision. The 26-year-old right-hander has allowed just one earned run over 10.1 innings in two starts. Overall, Wesneski's 2-0 with a stellar 0.54 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB across 16.2 innings in a swing role this season. While Justin Steele (hamstring), Kyle Hendricks (back) and Jordan Wicks (forearm) are all nearing returns, Wesneski has certainly made a compelling case to remain in Chicago's rotation. • Rangers place Nathan Eovaldi (groin) on 15-day IL
Rangers placed RHP Nathan Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain.

Advice: Eovaldi suffered the injury while twirling a gem against the Nationals on Thursday afternoon. The Rangers have not yet commented on how long they expect the 34-year-old right-hander to be sidelined for. Yerry Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock to take his place on the roster for the time being. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:42 pm

    • Heyden Wesneski turns in 6 1/3 scoreless innings
Hayden Wesneski shut out the Brewers for 6 1/3 innings and struck out eight in a no-decision Friday.

Advice: He allowed three hits and walked two. Wesneski gave up five balls hit at least 100 mph today, yet they all turned into outs. He has a 0.54 ERA after two starts and two relief appearances, but with Justin Steele returning and Kyle Hendricks probably right behind him, it’s unclear if he’ll get another start. • Put on injured list
Eovaldi was placed on the 15-day injured list on Friday with a strained right groin.

Advice: Eovaldi underwent an MRI on Friday which confirmed a right groin strain. He'll be placed on the 15-day IL -- joining Max Scherzer (back) -- while Yerry Rodriguez will join the big league roster in Eovaldi's place. Eovaldi's next start was scheduled for Tuesday, an opening that could be filled by Jack Leiter, who's currently in Triple-A Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:52 pm

    • MRI scheduled Friday
Eovaldi (groin) will undergo an MRI on Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Eovaldi, who was removed from Thursday's win over the Nationals, will travel with the club to Kansas City for the procedure. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said the team is "being cautious" with the 34-year-old right-hander, whose next turn is due Tuesday. Nothing will be determined until after the MRI, but Bochy indicated Eovaldi might just need some rest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:14 am
