    Advice: Lodolo got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He held the Orioles in check afterward until Adley Rutschman knocked an RBI double in the fifth. Lodolo had allowed just five runs over 24 innings to begin his 2024 campaign before Sunday's hiccup. Despite the poor outing, he owns a 2.79 ERA with a 37:8 K:BB through five starts.     Kremer (3-2) yielded a hit and a walk over six shutout innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Reds.

    Advice: Kremer retired the first 13 batters he faced before putting two straight runners on in the fifth inning. He avoided any damage and cruised to his third straight victory. During the win streak, he's posted an impressive 1.96 ERA and 20:6 K:BB through 18.1 frames. Kremer forced 13 whiffs Sunday, including seven with his four-seam.     Advice: Gordon was perfect at the plate Sunday, starting with his three-run jack in the first inning. Since his last multi-hit performance April 20, he'd been stuck in a 3-for-26 slump over 12 games. His homer Sunday was his fourth of the year and first since April 14. He kept the A's scoreless through three frames before coughing up a pair of runs in the fourth. Sanchez lowered his ERA to 7.50 with a lackluster 11:7 K:BB through 18 frames. The command has been a constant problem for him this season; Boyle has registered a 29:23 K:BB with a 7.16 ERA through 27.2 innings. As of now, he's in line for a start in Seattle next weekend.   • José Alvarado gives up homer, closes out Giants
    José Alvarado served up a solo homer in the ninth inning on Sunday night, but was still able to close out the Giants to protect a one-run lead and secure his seventh save of the season.

    Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw gave up a one-out solo blast to Jakson Reetz that pulled the Giants to within a run, but he battled back to strike out Nick Ahmed and got Jung Hoo Lee on a fly ball to right field to end it.     Taijuan Walker posted a quality start in Sunday night’s victory over the Giants, surrendering three runs on five hits across 6 1/3 strong innings of work.

    Advice: Walker racked up seven strikeouts on the evening while issuing just one free pass. The Giants scratched out a run in the opening inning on an RBI double by Michael Conforto, then Walker shut them down completely until Thairo Estrada connected on a two-run blast in the seventh. The 31-year-old hurler got just six swings and misses on 90 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 30 percent.     Jake McCarthy went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI in an 11-4 win over the Padres.

    Advice: McCarthy had a double and two singles on the night and is now slashing .311/.366/.392. The 26-year-old has been hitting leadoff consistently for the Diamondbacks but with Alek Thomas set to return from the IL this week, it’s unclear how the Diamondbacks will split playing time between him and McCarthy.
