    • Gil hammered for seven runs against Orioles
Luis Gil allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Gil gave up eight hits, walked two and struck out one. He was due to have a bad start. Gil entered the game with a .194 BABIP allowed and 83 percent left on base percentage. Both of those took a hit in the seven-run blow up. Gil’s ERA is up to 2.77 on the season. He’ll look to bounce back against the Mets on the road next week. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Collects eighth save
Sewald allowed one hit and struck out one during a scoreless ninth to collect the save Thursday against the Nationals.

Advice: Sewald collected his first save in two weeks, having tossed just 1.1 innings over two appearances during that span prior to Thursday. Despite the inactivity, Sewald needed only eight pitches, tossing six for strikes to thwart the Nationals. Sewald did surrender just his fourth hit allowed over 12.2 innings this season and still has not allowed a run since his initial appearance of the campaign. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago
    • Lugo allows two runs in no-decision on Thursday
Seth Lugo allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Royals’ 3-2 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Lugo gave up six hits, walked three and struck out eight. He allowed a two-run game-tying home run to Zack Gelof in the seventh inning, but it was still another solid effort from Lugo. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Marlins at home next week.

    • Yordan Alvarez homers, picks up three hits in win
Yordan Alvarez homered and went 3-for-5 with two RBI in a 5-3 victory for Houston over the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Alvarez smoked a homer in the first inning off Chris Flexen to give the Astros a 1-0 lead, and he tied the game at 3-3 with his single in the seventh. The 26-year-old outfielder has now driven in 39 runs, and it’s the 15th homer of the campaign. Simply put, Alvarez is one of the best hitters in baseball, and it’s only the lack of stolen bases that keeps him from the cream of the crop of fantasy players. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm
    • Paul Sewald hurls scoreless frame for save
Paul Sewald allowed a hit and picked up a strikeout in a scoreless inning to get a save against the Nationals on Thursday.

Advice: Sewald has been sensational since returning from the injured list, and the scoreless inning lowers his ERA to a miniscule 0.71. The right-hander also has collected eight saves and will continue to operate as the Diamondbacks closer throughout 2024. Rotoworld Today, 12:31 pm
    • Yordan Alvarez returns to lineup on Thursday
Yordan Alvarez is back in the lineup for Thursday’s contest against the White Sox.

Advice: Alvarez was out of the lineup for the last two days while tending to a family matter, but he’ll be back in Houston’s lineup hitting third for Thursday’s showdown in Chicago. The 26-year-old has been stellar this season and is seeing the ball very well in June. He should obviously be back in fantasy lineups. Rotoworld Today, 8:44 am
    • Rejoining lineup Thursday
Alvarez (personal) will serve as the Astros' designated hitter and No. 3 batter in Thursday's game against the White Sox, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Alvarez was away from the Astros for the last two days to tend to a family matter, but he caught a flight back to Chicago and rejoined the team in time for the series finale with the White Sox. Before his brief absence, Alvarez had been sizzling at the plate in June, producing a monstrous 1.212 OPS over 14 games on the month. Rotowire.com Today, 8:36 am
    • Brings it once again
Hudson threw two scoreless innings of relief and picked up his 11th hold of the season in Wednesday's victory over the Angels. He allowed a hit, struck out a batter and walked none.

Advice: Hudson allowed two earned runs in his final appearance of May, but he gave up only two all season prior to that, and he has not allowed any runs through eight frames in June. Add it all up and Hudson now owns a minuscule 0.90 ERA along with a 0.65 WHIP and 46:8 K:BB over 40 innings out of Milwaukee's bullpen. Rotowire.com Today, 7:45 am
    • Ekes out quality start Wednesday
Pfaadt (3-6) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks over 6.1 innings as the Diamondbacks fell 3-1 to the Nationals. He failed to strike out a batter.

Advice: To say the 25-year-old right-hander wasn't fooling anyone Wednesday would be an understatement. Pfaadt not only came up empty in strikeouts while issuing a season high in walks, he didn't generate a single swinging strike among his 77 pitches. He was still able to produce enough weak contact to deliver his second straight quality start and eighth of the season, however. Pfaadt will take a 4.37 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 84:22 K:BB through 90.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Twins. Rotowire.com Today, 6:11 am
