    • Locks up 13th save
Clase picked up the save Friday against Minnesota. He pitched a clean inning with one strikeout.

Advice: Clase required only 13 pitches to retire the side in order for the save Friday night. The 26-year-old closer is riding a streak of eight straight scoreless appearances, allowing just one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts and five saves over eight innings. Clase remains among the game's most elite closers, sporting a 0.42 ERA over 22.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago
    • Nails down 12th save
Clase earned the save Tuesday against Texas, allowing one walk over a scoreless inning with no strikeouts

Advice: Clase moved into a four-way tied for the second most saves in baseball with Tuesday's contest and, after leading MLB in saves the past two seasons, is firmly in the mix to do so again in 2024. The 26-year-old has yielded just one earned run and walked two batters in 21.1 innings of work. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:11 am
    • Gives up two runs versus Dodgers
Hicks allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out four without walking a batter over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Hicks wasn't particularly efficient Monday, throwing 56 of 93 pitches for strikes. He's failed to get past the fifth inning in all three of his starts in May after doing so in three of his first six outings of the year. The right-hander has pitched to a steady 2.44 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 39:16 K:BB through 48 innings this season. He's given up nine runs (seven earned) through 14 innings in May, albeit with less-than-ideal matchups and venues. Hicks' next start is projected to be at home versus the Rockies. • Jordan Hicks strong for six against Dodgers
Jordan Hicks pitched five innings of two-run ball before being lifted against the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Walks have been a problem for Hicks of late, but he issued none against a patient Dodgers lineup tonight. He struck out four, and he went a sixth straight start without giving a homer. His ERA stands at 2.44 after nine starts. Rotoworld Monday, 10:42 pm

    • Raisel Iglesias gives up solo homer vs. Mets
Raisel Iglesias allowed a solo homer while picking up a strikeout in a relief appearance Saturday against the Mets.

Advice: Atlanta didn’t allow a hit over the first 8 2/3 innings, but Iglesias gave up the no-no — and the shutout — by allowing a homer to J.D. Martinez. Iglesias also gave up another hit and a walk, but he was able to escape the jam; although the escape comes without a save since he entered the game with a 4-0 lead. • Notches 10th save
Iglesias allowed a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday to earn a save against the Mets.

Advice: Iglesias coughed up an RBI single to Pete Alonso with two outs in the ninth but was able to close out the 4-2 victory. The right-hander has converted 10 of his 12 save chances this year while posting a 10:4 K:BB through 15.1 innings. Friday was the first time he'd allowed an earned run since April 24, and he owns a strong 2.25 ERA. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:30 pm

    • Raisel Iglesias earns shaky save over Mets
Raisel Iglesias closed out the Mets for his 10th save of the season Friday despite allowing an earned run.

Advice: Results wise, Iglesias has been great this season with a 2.35 ERA. There’s some fear of regression though with a paltry 16.1 K%, by far the lowest of his career. A.J. Minter has faltered out of the gate, so Iglesias still likely has a firm hold on Atlanta’s closer role. Rotoworld Friday, 7:48 pm

    • Earns win Wednesday
Clase (2-1) earned the extra-inning win Wednesday over the Tigers, striking out one without allowing a hit or a walk in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Clase was sharp in the 10th inning despite a fielder's choice and a wild pitch, and the Guardians completed their comeback on a walk-off Brayan Rocchio single in the bottom of the frame. This outing extended Clase's scoreless streak to five innings, and he's gone 12.1 innings without giving up an earned run. The closer is 11-for-13 in save chances while pitching to a 0.47 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 20:1 K:BB through 19.1 innings on the year. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:01 am
    • Allows three runs in win
Hicks (3-1) earned the win over the Rockies on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over five frames.

Advice: Hicks pitched well for most of the contest and allowed just one run up until the fifth inning. However, that's where the right-hander would run into trouble after allowing four consecutive batters to reach with one out, ultimately leading to two more runs coming across for Colorado. The seven hits and three runs allowed both marked season highs for Hicks, who has now failed to go beyond five innings in back-to-back starts. He now holds a 5.00 ERA over two May starts to go along with an 8:6 K:BB. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:56 am
