    • Wilyer Abreu plates lone run in loss to Twins
Wilyer Abreu went 2-for-4 and drove in the Red Sox’ lone run in Saturday afternoon’s loss to the Twins.

Advice: The Red Sox got something going early in this one, as Tyler O’Neill smacked a two-out double off of Pablo López in the opening inning. Abreu followed with a run-scoring single that gave his squad an early 1-0 advantage. That would be their only run in the ballgame. Abreu also singled in the game, collecting two of his team’s eight total hits. The 24-year-old outfielder has been terrific so far at the dish, slashing .307/.380/.489 with a pair of homers, 13 RBI and five stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:52 pm

    • Sitting against lefty
Cowser isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: With lefty Andrew Abbott set to take the mound for Cincinnati, the lefty-hitting Cowser will begin Saturday's contest on the bench. His absence will open a spot for Ryan McKenna to start in left field while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:48 pm
    • Idle against lefty
Naylor isn't in the Guardians' lineup Saturday against the Angels.

Advice: The left-handed Naylor will take a seat as fellow left-hander Reid Detmers starts on the hill for Los Angeles. David Fry will take over at first base and bat fourth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:28 pm

    • Notches 10th steal
Witt went 1-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Witt's RBI single put the Royals up 3-1 in the seventh inning. He then stole second and scored on a Salvador Perez three-run home run. Witt is one of seven players to reach double-digit steals so far this season, though he's also been caught four times, most among those players. The shortstop is batting .357 during his seven-game hitting streak, and he's at a .318/.364/.538 slash line through 33 contests overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:14 am

    • On base three times
Caballero went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk Friday against the Mets.

Advice: Caballero collected a pair of hits for the second consecutive game and also drew his first walk in 12 starts. He also remains busy on the basepaths, though he was caught stealing for the fifth time in 14 attempts on the campaign. Caballero hasn't offered much power across 113 plate appearances, but he does have 14 runs scored and 12 RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:07 am

    • Increasing baseball activities
Bellinger (ribs) is set to do hitting and defensive drills Saturday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Bellinger landed on the injured list April 24 after fracturing his right rib against the Astros the day prior. It's a good sign that the 2019 NL MVP is taking the first steps in his rehab, and Cubs manager Craig Counsell suggested that Bellinger could return to the club next week, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com. In Bellinger's absence, Pete Crow-Armstrong has served as the primary starter in center field and is slashing .259/.250/.444 with one home run and seven RBI over 29 plate appearances this season. • Bellinger, Suzuki participating in drills Saturday
Cody Bellinger (rib) and Seiya Suzuki (oblique) are hitting and participating in defensive drills Saturday.

Advice: Bellinger and Suzuki are key cogs of the Chicago offense, and both are working their way before from significant injuries. Both will need rehab assignments before they can return to the lineup, but it does appear both Suzuki and Bellinger could be back with the club before the end of May. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:29 am

    • Blows save, takes first loss Friday
Foley (2-1) allowed two runs on four hits without recording an out to blow the save and take the loss Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Foley came on in the ninth inning to protect a 1-0 Detroit lead, but the righty struggled and blew his first save of the season in 10 chances. He's still sitting with a solid 2.63 ERA overall and should remain the team's closer for now, though it's a fluid situation with Alex Lange, Shelby Miller and Andrew Chafin all potentially waiting in the wings if Foley stumbles again. Lange led the Tigers with 26 saves last year and has been sharp with a 0.75 ERA in 2024, so he may be the next man up in this bullpen. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:23 am

    • Blows save in extras
Iglesias blew the save Friday against the Dodgers. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.

Advice: Iglesias entered the bottom of the 10th inning tasked with retiring the top of the Dodgers order to earn a save. He promptly retired Mookie Betts on two pitches before yielding a game-tying RBI single to Shohei Ohtani. However, since it was the automatic runner that scored, the Atlanta closer escaped Friday night without a hit to his ERA, which now stands at 2.03 over 13.1 innings. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:35 pm
