      Arenado went 2-for-4 with two doubles and there RBI in Friday's win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Arenado gave St. Louis an early lead with a two-run double in the first inning before adding another RBI double in the fifth. Over his previous 13 games, he posted a disappointing .614 OPS with just one multi-hit performance. Friday's game was the first time he drove in multiple runs since April 20.     • Picks up second save
      Adam gave up a run on two hits and struck out one in the ninth inning Friday to record his second save of the season in a 10-8 win over the Mets.

      Advice: The right-hander has collected saves in back-to-back appearances, but he's looked a bit shaky both times. Adam served up a solo shot to Brett Baty on Friday before giving up a two-out double to Brandon Nimmo that brought the tying run to the plate. Adam's 1.80 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB through 15 innings on the season remain impressive, but with Pete Fairbanks (forearm) set to begin a rehab assignment next week, he should return to setup duties before long.     • Nolan Arenado doubles twice, drives in three
      Nolan Arenado drove in all three runs for the Cardinals while doubling twice against the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: Arenado doubled home two runs in the first, and another in the fifth. The 33-year-old has picked up eight two-baggers in the 2024 campaign, and the pair of hits ups his slash to .279/.338/.369.     • Anthony Rizzo delivers walk-off winner on Friday
      Anthony Rizzo smacked an RBI single off of Jason Foley in the ninth inning on Friday night, propelling the Yankees to a 2-1 walk-off victory over the Tigers.

      Advice: The Yankees had come up empty through eight innings against Reese Olson and a host of Tigers’ relievers. They finally got the bats going in the ninth though, as Aaron Judge singled, Alex Verdugo dropped down a bunt single and Giancarlo Stanton smacked an RBI double to start the inning. Rizzo then followed by poking a ball through the drawn in infield to walk it off. The 34-year-old slugger finished the night 1-for-3 plus a walk and is now hitting .256/.324/.403 with five homers and 17 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:13 pm

      The Marlins traded Arraez to the Padres on Friday in exchange for Dillon Head, Woo-suk Go, Nathan Martorella and Jakob Marsee, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

      Advice: It's not immediately clear how Arraez will fit into the Padres' lineup, as San Diego already has a strong infield unit that includes Jake Cronenworth, Xander Bogaerts, Ha-Seong Kim and Manny Machado, but it's possible Arraez fills in as the Friars' primary designated hitter. The 27-year-old is slashing .299/.347/.372 across 148 plate appearances so far this season, and his departure from Miami leaves Vidal Brujan as the favorite to take over as the Marlins' main second baseman.     • Jason Adam closes out Mets on Friday night
      Jason Adam picked up his second save of the season on Friday night, despite allowing a run in the ninth inning against the Mets.

      Advice: The 32-year-old right-hander came on with a three-run lead to protect, but things got a bit tighter as he surrendered a one-out solo homer to Brett Baty. He also allowed a two-out double to Brandon Nimmo that brought the tying run to the plate, but was able to retire Starling Marte on strikes to end it. He has now converted two of his first three save chances while filling in for the injured Pete Fairbanks.     • Padres closing in on deal to acquire Luis Arraez
      Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Padres are finalizing a deal to acquire second baseman Luis Arraez from the Marlins.

      Advice: Passan notes that the Marlins will receive a package of three prospects and a relief pitcher in return for the two-time defending batting champion. The Padres already have a strong combo up the middle with Ha-Seong Kim and Xander Bogaerts, so its likely that the plan is to play Arraez at either first base or third base.     • Getting second opinion
      Manager Alex Cora said Friday that Yoshida will get a second opinion on his strained left thumb, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

      Advice: Cora previously said Thursday that Yoshida may need to undergo surgery on his thumb after straining it during Sunday's win over the Cubs, but the 30-year-old will wait to hear from another doctor before determining the best course of action. Yoshida has slashed .275/.348/.388 with 11 RBI across 89 plate appearances this season, and an update on his status should be available within the next several days.     • Adbert Alzolay gives up three runs to take loss
      After coming in with a 1-0 lead in the eighth, Adbert Alzolay gave up three runs on four hits to take a loss to the Brewers on Friday.

      Advice: All four hits were singles, and three of them were soft, coming in at 80 mph or less. Two were grounders perfectly placed in between Dansby Swanson and Nico Hoerner up the middle. To be fair, Alzolay was missing his spots, and he hurt his cause by paying no attention to the baserunners and giving up three steals. Obviously, this won’t help his chances of seeing saves again anytime soon.
