    • Charlie Morton gives up five runs in loss to Yanks
Charlie Morton struggled in a losing effort against the Yankees on Saturday night, giving up five runs on five hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 40-year-old hurler also issued five free passes on the night while striking out four opposing batters. Morton served up a two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening inning, then the Yankees scratched out single runs in the third and fourth innings before chasing Morton while scoring a run in the sixth. Morton generated 11 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night — nine of them on his curveball — while posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll attempt to bounce back and improve upon his 4.20 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and an 80/35 K/BB ratio (79 1/3 innings) when he squares off against the White Sox in Chicago on Thursday. • Active early in win
Suzuki went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets.

Advice: Suzuki opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning then stole second and scored in the same frame. He later added a double in the fifth. Suzuki is slashing .292/.395/.523 with seven-multi hit efforts in 65 June at-bats. The 29-year-old is contributing a bit of everything this season, slashing .269/.347/.461 with eight home runs, 28 RBI, 27 runs scored and seven steals through 197 at-bats. Rotowire.com 52 minutes ago

    • Pivetta allows three in no-decision against Reds
Nick Pivetta allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Pivetta gave up six hits, walked one and struck out five. He was on the hook for the loss before a late comeback by the Red Sox offense. It was another pedestrian start from Pivetta that might be becoming a trend. In his first eight starts of the year, he had 51 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings. In his last three starts, he’s had just 13 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres at home next weekend.

    • Not starting Saturday
Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Rodriguez will be in the dugout Saturday for what is a scheduled off-day for the 23-year-old outfielder, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. For the month of June, Rodriguez is slashing .260/.325/.397 with 12 runs, three home runs and eight RBI over 73 at-bats. Dylan Moore, Dominic Canzone and Luke Raley will man the outfield Saturday. • Braxton Garrett dealing with elbow discomfort
MLB.com’s Christina De Nicola reports Braxton Garrett won’t start Sunday against the Mariners due to left elbow discomfort.

Advice: It’s a virtual lock that Garrett will land on the injured list later this weekend and it’s yet another devastating hit to Miami’s injury-depleted starting rotation. At this point, there’s almost nobody left from the Marlins’ pre-season pitching plans. There should be an update on the 26-year-old southpaw’s status once he undergoes some additional testing and imaging to determine the extent of the matter. Rotoworld Today, 10:53 am

    • Sitting Saturday
Gurriel (elbow) isn't in Arizona's lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Gurriel was removed from Friday's game due to a sore left elbow, and it is seemingly bothering him enough to keep him from playing Saturday, though the D-backs don't believe his injury to be anything too serious. Jake McCarthy will slide over to left field while Gurriel recovers, allowing Randal Grichuk to start in right field while batting sixth. Rotowire.com Today, 10:51 am

    • Won't start Sunday
Garrett was scratched from his scheduled start Sunday due to left elbow discomfort, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Garrett reported having problems in his elbow following a bullpen session Friday, so the Marlins will play it safe and hold him out of Sunday's contest. The 26-year-old southpaw will undergo further testing, and the results will help determine if he needs to spend some time on the injured list. Miami has not yet named a replacement starter for Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 10:33 am

    • Julio Rodríguez gets rare day off on Saturday
Julio Rodríguez is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Marlins.

Advice: It’s an extremely rare off day for Rodríguez, who has been struggling a bit at the dish over the last few weeks, batting .237 (14-for-59) with only two homers and two steals over his last 15 games. Hopefully an extra day of rest will enable him to get back on track at the plate. Rotoworld Today, 10:16 am
    • Willson Contreras (forearm) could return on Monday
The Athletic’s Katie Woo reports Willson Contreras (forearm) could return as early as Monday’s series opener against the Braves.

Advice: Contreras is slated to get into a pair of rehab contests this weekend for Triple-A Memphis with the aim of returning early next week. The 32-year-old backstop has been on the shelf since undergoing surgery back in early May to repair a fractured left forearm. Barring something unexpected, he should return early next week, which would be a significant development for the Cardinals, and fantasy managers as well. Rotoworld Today, 10:10 am
