    Alzolay (1-4) allowed three runs on four hits while retiring just a single batter to take the loss Friday against the Brewers.

    Advice: Alzolay came on with one out in the eighth inning and promptly got into trouble, allowing a couple of quick singles before recording an out. The Brewers also ran freely on Alzolay, stealing three bases while he was on the mound. It's been a rough start to the season for the righty, as he's saddled with a 5.54 ERA and has been removed from the closer's role in favor of Hector Neris.   • Hits first snag in majors
    Winn (0-1) was charged with Friday's loss after giving up four runs on four hits over a third of an inning against the Royals.

    Advice: Winn entered a 1-1 game to start the seventh inning and allowed four singles before his removal. The 24-year-old breezed through his introduction to MLB, throwing seven scoreless innings over five outings (zero hits, one walk, seven strikeouts) before facing his first adversity Friday. Texans general manager Chris Young raved about the right-hander to Kenndi Landry of MLB.com earlier this week, noting Winn was attacking the strike zone.     Shane Drohan (shoulder) is beginning his rehab assignment.

    Advice: Drohan has been on the injured list since the start of the season after undergoing nerve decompression surgery on his shoulder. The 25-year-old will likely need a lengthy rehab assignment with a chance to return to the White Sox before the end of May. Rotoworld Today, 6:10 am

    Stone did not factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta, allowing one run on five hits one walk over six innings. He struck out five.

    Advice: Stone looked solid Friday night against a tough Atlanta lineup, generating 14 whiffs and five punchouts. His only blemish on the evening was a 449-foot solo shot allowed to Austin Riley in the first inning. Stone has made four straight starts allowing two or fewer runs, tossing a 2.35 ERA in 23 innings over that span. The Dodgers right-hander is slated to make his next start against the Marlins at home.   • Blows save in extras
    Iglesias blew the save Friday against the Dodgers. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.

    Advice: Iglesias entered the bottom of the tenth inning tasked with retiring the top of the Dodgers order to earn a save. He promptly retired Mookie Betts on two pitches before yielding a game-tying RBI single to Shohei Ohtani.     Morton did not factor into the decision Friday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

    Advice: Morton held the vaunted Dodgers lineup in check Friday night, pitching well enough to earn his third straight quality start. Over those three starts, the 40-year-old has thrown 19 innings to the tune of a 1.89 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB. Morton is slated to face the Mets on the road in his next start.   • Charlie Morton holds LAD to two runs in no-decision
    Charlie Morton gave up two runs in six innings against the Dodgers on Friday while not factoring into the decision.

    Advice: Morton continues his good run, but it comes without a win as Atlanta didn’t provide him the necessary run support. The right-hander lowered his season ERA to 3.50 while scattering five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Morton didn’t look good in the middle of April, but the 40-year-old has been a very strong option outside of those two outings where he gave up 12 of the 14 runs he’s given up in 2024.   • Gavin Stone limits Atlanta to one run over six
    Gavin Stone didn’t factor into the decision against Atlanta on Friday despite allowing just one run over six innings.

    Advice: Stone was excellent, but the Dodgers blew a late lead to prevent him from picking up the win. The 25-year-old threw 58-of-86 pitches for strikes while fanning five and issuing just one walk. Stone isn’t missing bats at an elite level, but it’s tough to argue with the results thus far.   • Dazzles in victory
    Cease (4-2) earned the win Friday against the Diamondbacks, allowing one run, three hits and no walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out eight.

    Advice: Cease continued his brilliant start to the season Friday night, generating 18 whiffs en route to eight strikeouts. The erstwhile White Sox pitcher appears to have re-found his 2022 form, pitching to the tune of a 2.55 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 48:14 K:BB over 42.1 innings.
