    • Three straight starts
Caballero went 3-for-3 with a run scored Wednesday against the Mariners.

Advice: Caballero looked to be the odd man out when Taylor Walls returned from the injured list, but he's started in three straight games and four of the Rays' last five games. In part, that's because Brandon Lowe (toe) has been sidelined, though the Rays have also played Caballero at third base and shortstop during his recent uptick in playing time. He's hit a decent .243 this season, though most of his fantasy value comes from his 24 stolen bases. Rotowire.com Today, 6:20 am

    • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drives in two runs in loss
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI against the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: Gurriel Jr. drove in two of the D-Backs’ three runs against the Twins, starting with a triple in the fourth to bring in the first run of the game for Arizona. With a runner on third in the sixth inning, he drove in a second run with a sacrifice fly. The 30-year-old outfielder is hitting .260/.293/.409 with 10 homers and 45 RBI across 310 plate appearances. • Poor control in loss
Gibson (5-3) allowed four runs on four hits and five walks while striking out four over four innings to take the loss versus Atlanta in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Advice: Gibson made his first start since June 14 -- a stint on the bereavement list, a bout of back tightness and a rainout combined to keep him out of game action for 12 days. He wasn't sharp, throwing 50 of 87 pitches for strikes Wednesday, with the five walks being a season high. This was his first loss since April 13 and the first time he's given up more than three runs since May 17. Gibson has a 3.70 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 77:36 K:BB over 87.2 innings across 15 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:54 pm

    • Kyle Gibson walks five in loss to Braves
Kyle Gibson allowed four runs and walked five in four innings Wednesday in a loss to the Braves.

Advice: The control issues are rather unusual for Gibson — this is the first time in two years that he’s walked five in a game — and one wonders if they might have been related to the back issue that cost him his last start. He dropped to 5-3 with a 3.70 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:45 pm

    • Willson Contreras winds up 0-for-5 against Rangers
William Contreras went 0-for-5 on Wednesday, dropping his OPS back under .800.

Advice: Contreras has not been getting results for a good month now, but things might be starting to turn around some. He had doubles on both Monday and Tuesday. Today, his four balls in play, one of which left the bat at 107.5 mph, had xBAs of .870, .480, .470 and .260. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:17 pm
    • Goes yard again Tuesday
Devers went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: He took Kevin Gausman deep in the second inning and nearly did it again in the sixth, but his blast to the deepest part of the center field triangle at Fenway Park ended up being a double due to fan interference. Devers has erupted in June, slashing .300/.359/.625 over 21 games with four doubles, two triples, six homers, 16 RBI and 18 runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:07 am

    • Yields homer in non-save spot
Hader allowed a solo home run and a walk with three strikeouts during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Hader stepped into the game for the ninth inning despite not being eligible for the save and gave up his first home run since June 9 to Michael Toglia. After a shaky start to 2024, Hader owns a 2.25 ERA with 30 strikeouts and eight saves over his last 19 appearances. He's also walking batters at his lowest clip since 2019, with 2.4 BB/9 in 2024. • Goes yard again
Ward went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run during Tuesday's 7-5 win over Oakland.

Advice: Ward launched a homer for the second consecutive night, tagging Sean Newcomb for a solo shot in the seventh inning. He's riding a five-game hit streak, batting 7-for-15 (.467) with five extra-base hits, five runs scored and a stolen base during that stretch. Ward also ranks top 20 in the AL in home runs and RBI. • Reaches thrice in win
Contreras went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored during Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Contreras got the Brewers on the board in the third inning, swatting a leadoff double before being driven in on a two-out single by Jackson Chourio. Tuesday's contest marked Contreras' first multi-hit game since June 16. While the catcher's power numbers are down overall, he's one stolen base away from matching his career high of six and is on pace for a career-best strikeout rate at 19.3 percent.
