      Bassitt (7-7) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

      Advice: Bassitt got off to a terrible start in allowing six of the first seven batters he faced to reach base, resulting in three Astros runs. The veteran hurler bounced back to give up just one more run over the remainder of his five frames, but the first-inning damage was enough to send him to his seventh loss of the season. Bassitt had been rolling coming into Thursday, posting a 1.41 ERA across his previous five starts, and the four runs he yielded against Houston were his most since he gave up seven runs against the Dodgers on April 26. Bassitt's overall numbers this season have been pretty much in line with what fantasy managers have come to expect from him -- he has a 3.43 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 94:41 K:BB across 102.1 frames.       Hader earned a save against the Blue Jays on Thursday, allowing one hit in one scoreless inning.

      Advice: Hader entered in the ninth inning with Houston holding a two-run lead and immediately allowed a single to bring the tying run to the plate. However, he then induced a double play -- Toronto's fifth double play of the contest -- and needed just nine pitches overall to nail down his 14th save. Despite the successful outing, Hader snapped an eight-game streak of appearances with at least one punchout. He had posted a 14:1 K:BB across eight frames during that stretch.     • Witt Jr. a triple shy of the cycle against Rays
      Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI against the Rays on Thursday.

      Advice: The home run was Witt Jr.'s 14th of the season. He took Pete Fairbanks deep with a solo shot in the ninth inning. Witt Jr. remains one of the best hitters in fantasy this season. He’s hitting .319 with a .925 OPS and 58 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 8:53 pm

      William Contreras went 2-for-5 against the Rockies on Thursday.

    • Quantrill allows two runs in no-decision
      Cal Quantrill allowed two runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Rockies’ 4-3 victory over the Brewers on Thursday.



      Advice: Quantrill gave up five hits, walked four and struck out two. He gave up two runs on a two-run single by Andrew Monasterio in the fourth inning. His ERA is 3.77, but with a 4.38 xFIP and 74 strikeouts on the season he’s tough to stream while pitching half of his games at Coors Field let alone roster. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Reds on the road next week.

    • Rafael Devers walks three times, drives in two
      Rafael Devers drove in two runs while walking three times in a victory over the Marlins in extra-innings Thursday.

      Advice: Hard to drive in runs without getting a hit, but Devers is capable of doing anything he set his mind to. He drove in both runs on fielder’s choices. All three of the walks were intentional, which is not something you see too often in 2024, or any year really. He’s now hitting .288/.375/.568 on the season with 51 RBI.       Josh Hader allowed a hit but no runs while picking up a save Thursday against the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Hader gave up the hit, but worked around it while picking up his 14th save for the surging Astros. The left-hander needed just nine pitches to get through the inning, and six of those went for strikes.       Chris Bassitt went five innings while allowing four runs in a loss to the Astros on Thursday.

      Advice: Bassitt, 35, gave up eight hits, walked four and struck out three. Most of the damage was done early, as he gave up three runs in the first inning before settling down. The right-hander had allowed just three total earned runs over his last two starts, so it goes without saying this outing — while not horrific — didn’t keep that good run going.
