    • Irvin gives up four runs in loss to Diamondbacks
Jake Irvin allowed four earned runs on eight hits over five innings while striking out two in Tuesday’s loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Irvin allowed the first three batters he faced to reach base, but it was the two-run homer by Ketel Marte that put him in a hole early. Irvin would go on to pitch two scoreless innings before surrendering two more runs in the fifth, which would be his final inning. It was just the second time this year that Irvin has allowed four or more runs in an outing, as he’s been one of the core members of a Nationals rotation that has surprised in the first half of the season. Irvin will look to get back on track in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Rockies. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago

    • Ketel Marte homers, drives in three vs. Nationals
Ketel Marte went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Nationals.

Advice: Marte hit a 434-foot shot off Jake Irvin in the top of the first to give the Diamondbacks an early 2-0 lead. It was Marte’s 15 homer of the season and marks his third-straight game with an RBI. He would later bring home Corbin Carroll on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. The veteran second baseman has bounced back nicely from a down May in which he hit .216 and is now slashing .360/.468/.640 in the month of June with five home runs and 13 RBI. • Resting Tuesday
Toro isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Royals.

Advice: Toro will sit down for Tuesday's series opener after going 2-for-14 during Oakland's previous series against the Twins. The newly-promoted Tyler Nevin will take over at third base and bat seventh. Rotowire.com Today, 2:51 pm

    • Oneil Cruz sitting against lefty on Tuesday
Oneil Cruz is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Cruz, who has been dealing with a sore ankle over the last few days, will take a seat to open Tuesday’s contest with lefty Nick Lodolo toeing the rubber for Cincinnati. The 25-year-old shortstop boasts a .734 OPS with nine homers and five steals in 262 plate appearances over 64 games so far. Rotoworld Today, 12:57 pm

    • Sitting against southpaw
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees. Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting O'Hearn will avoid a matchup with LHP Nestor Cortes on Tuesday, giving up DH duties to Adley Rutschman while James McCann catches. Rotowire.com Today, 12:34 pm

    • Out versus southpaw
Cruz is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Reds.

Advice: The left-handed hitting Cruz will begin this one on the bench as the Reds send southpaw Nick Lodolo to the hill. Jared Triolo is getting the start at shortstop for the Pirates. Rotowire.com Today, 12:19 pm

    • Drives in two runs in win
Cruz went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Monday's 4-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: With Paul Skenes dealing on the mound, Cruz's two-run single in the first inning ended up being the deciding runs. The 25-year-old now has 10 of his 30 RBI for the season over his past nine games. He's been swinging a hot bat since the calendar turned to June, slashing .295/.325/.525 over his last 11 games. • Oneil Cruz hits two-run single, Pirates edge Reds
Oneil Cruz delivered a two-run single on Monday, lifting the Pirates to a 4-1 victory over the Reds.

Advice: Cruz put the Pirates ahead for good with a two-run single off Reds starter Carson Spiers in the opening frame, which wound up being more than enough run support for young ace Paul Skenes and Pittsburgh’s bullpen in a low-scoring affair at PNC Park. It was somehow the first meeting this season between the longtime division rivals. Cruz hasn’t exactly torn the cover off the ball this season, but he’s shown flashes of the big-time upside that makes him one of the most exciting young players in the game. • Two hits in return
Cruz went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI on Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Cruz returned from a two-game absence caused by ankle soreness but showed no ill effects. He has five multi-hit performances across 11 games in June while maintaining a .300 average with eight RBI and eight runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:48 am
