      Jo Adell hammered a two-run homer on Sunday in the Angels’ loss to the Tigers.

      Advice: Adell made things interesting in the ninth inning with a two-out homer off Tigers reliever Shelby Miller to bring the Halos within one run at the time, but their surreal comeback effort came up just short, and their six-game winning streak was also snapped in the process.       De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 loss against Philadelphia.

      Advice: De La Cruz broke out of a mini slump after going 4-for-28 over his last seven games with a nice showing on Sunday. His 15 home runs in 82 games this season are just four behind the career high he set last season in 153 games.       Tyler Anderson was lit up for six runs over 4 2/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Tigers.

      Advice: Anderson was shelled for seven hits, including a two-run homer by Tigers rookie Justyn-Henry Malloy. He finished with just two strikeouts and only issued one walk. The 34-year-old southpaw has experienced some significant pullback in the run-prevention department over the last few weeks as his ERA has ballooned from 2.47 back on May 29 to a more league-average 3.03 mark by the end of June. De La Cruz has always had tremendous physical tools and is now showing genuine, all-fields power.       Advice: Cruz hit a 452-foot missile off Spencer Schwellenbach in the fifth inning to give the Pirates a lead they wouldn't relinquish. It was the third longest homer of his career, and it had an exit velocity of 117.3 MPH, which is also the third hardest of his career. There have been five home runs with exit velocities of 117 or more this season, and Cruz has two of them.       Oneil Cruz hit a two-run homer Sunday in a 4-2 victory for the Pirates over Atlanta.

      Advice: Cruz also singled and walked. The 25-year-old absolutely obliterated a 452-foot shot off Spencer Schwellenbach to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead with Jack Suwinski on base at that time. Cruz continues to frustrate in what is essentially his first full season of MLB action, but games like this one remind that there are very few players in the sport who have as much talent.
