    • Grabs 28th save
Helsley allowed a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in a 4-1 win over Atlanta in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Advice: Helsley allowed two runs in Monday's game versus Atlanta, but he was able to keep his save streak going. The right-hander has converted his last 28 save attempts after blowing his first chance of the year. He's now at a 2.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB through 36 innings. Helsley has allowed six hits and issued 10 walks over 11 innings in June, but he's been scored on in just two of his 11 appearances this month, so his place as the Cardinals' closer is not in doubt. • Ryan Helsley locks down 28th save Wednesday
Ryan Helsley tossed a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout to earn the save in the second game of a doubleheader against the Braves on Wednesday.

Advice: Helsley was summoned to close it out in the ninth with a three-run lead against the Braves. He recorded the first out, then allowed two runners on with a single and a walk. A groundout put both runners in scoring position and brought the tying run to the plate with two outs. He Helsley struck out the final batter to end the game with his MLB-leading 28th save. • Buckles against Bucs
Greene (5-3) took the loss Tuesday, surrendering six runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings as the Reds fell 9-5 to the Pirates. He struck out five.

Advice: Aggressive baserunning helped Pittsburgh score three times in the first inning before adding three more in the third, and Cincy was never able to climb out of the hole. The loss was Greene's first since April 22 -- over the 10 starts in between, he'd posted a sharp 2.80 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 62:26 K:BB through 61 innings. The 24-year-old right-hander will look to regain that form in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road this weekend in St. Louis. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:24 am
    • Blanks Rockies
Brown (5-5) picked up the win Tuesday against Colorado, allowing two hits and three walks with seven strikeouts across 6.0 scoreless innings.

Advice: Brown landed his fourth consecutive win Tuesday and generated his seventh straight quality start. He largely stayed out of trouble, with just two runners reaching scoring position and nobody surpassing first base until the fourth inning. After stumbling early in the season, Brown has been utterly dominant in June, owning a 1.16 ERA with a 36:8 K:BB across 31.0 innings. He's on track for another start before the calendar flips to July, with a matchup against the Mets set for Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:06 am
    • Hunter Brown picks up fifth win vs. Rockies
Hunter Brown allowed two hits over six scoreless innings while striking out seven to earn the win over the Rockies.

Advice: Brown was allowed to keep things in cruise control after his offense provided him five runs in the bottom of the first. The righty moved his season record to 5-5 on the year and saw his ERA drop to 4.37. Brown has enjoyed a solid June, allowing just four earned runs over 31 innings pitched while posting a 36:8 K:BB ratio. He picked up four wins along the way and will look to get off to a strong start in July when he toes the rubber on Monday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:00 pm
    • Hunter Greene coughs up six runs to Pirates
Hunter Greene allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: The game started with Greene throwing up on the mound after delivering a first-inning fastball and it didn’t get much better from there. He struck out five and walked two and his velocity was fine on the day, but he clearly wasn’t feeling 100 percent. He posted a solid 27 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW, but the command wasn’t great and the Pirates were able to scratch out their runs on just one extra-base hit. Greene will hopefully be feeling better for his next start against the Cardinals this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:11 pm
    • Stumbles but secures save
Helsley allowed two runs on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning Monday, striking out two and earning a save against Atlanta.

Advice: Helsley loaded the bases with just one out but managed to escape with a save in the 4-3 win. It was the second time this month he's allowed multiple runs in an appearance, and the third time in his last 13 outings. Despite the recent shakiness, Helsley has converted 27 consecutive save chances since blowing his first opportunity of the year. He owns a 2.83 ERA and a 42:15 K:BB through 35 innings. • Effective again Monday
Paxton allowed three hits and three walks while striking out six batters over five scoreless innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Paxton needed 91 pitches to get through five frames, so he wasn't able to record a third straight quality start or hang around long enough for Los Angeles' offense to supply him a run. Nonetheless, the veteran left-hander was very effective, and he flashed some of the swing-and-miss stuff of his peak seasons with 18 whiffs. Since giving up a season-high seven runs (six earned) over 1.2 innings versus Pittsburgh in his first start of June, Paxton has surrendered just two runs across 18 frames over his subsequent three outings. The strikeout numbers have been improving too -- Paxton's two best punchout performances of the campaign have come in his past two starts. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:29 pm
    • Paxton tosses five scoreless in no-decision Monday
James Paxton allowed no runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Dodgers’ 3-0 victory over the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Paxton gave up three hits, walked three and struck out six. He had won his last two starts, but the Dodgers couldn’t score any runs to support him. It was still a good effort from Paxton, who lowered his ERA to 3.39 in the process. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Giants on the road this weekend.
