• Kutter Crawford strikes out nine in win over Yanks
Kutter Crawford racked up nine strikeouts over six innings of three-run baseball in a victory over the Yankees on Sunday night.

Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander allowed just three hits and one walk on the night. He served up a solo homer to Aaron Judge in the opening inning, then kept the Yankees’ offense completely at bay until Jose Trevino crushed a solo homer in the sixth inning. They scratched out another run in the sixth as Anthony Volpe scampered home on a wild pitch with two outs in the inning. Crawford generated 16 swings and misses on 84 pitches in the ballgame — nine on his sweeper — while posting a terrific CSW of 39 percent. Now 3-6 on the season, Crawford will tote a 3.54 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and an 88/26 K/BB ratio (86 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Reds in Cincinnati. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:19 pm

  • Camilo Doval has ugly outing in rout
Brought in with a 13-2 lead in the ninth, Camilo Doval was charged with four runs in one-third of an inning Sunday against the Angels.

Advice: Ouch. The Giants just wanted to get Doval some work after three days off, and he wound up allowing four hits and two walks. It’s the second time this month that he’s allowed four runs, though it wasn’t nearly as costly last time. He’s been fine, if not quite as good as last year, aside from those two outings, so his gig is safe. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:17 pm
  • Tyler Glasnow shuts down Royals, strikes out nine
Tyler Glasnow cruised against the Royals on Sunday, striking out nine over seven innings in the Dodgers’ 3-0 shutout.

Advice: Glasnow walked only one and needed just 85 pitches to get his 21 outs today. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak in which the Dodgers just couldn’t score runs for him. He’s 7-5 with a 3.00 ERA and a 125/25 K/BB in 93 innings for the year. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:46 pm

  • Evan Phillips improves to 10-for-10 in saves
Evan Phillips turned in a hitless ninth with a three-run lead for a save Sunday against the Royals.

Advice: Phillips had one rough outing in his second appearance back from the injured list, but he’s been lights out otherwise. This one made him 10-for-10 in save chances and put his ERA back under 2.00 at 1.93. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:46 pm
  • Abner Uribe to undergo right knee surgery
Abner Uribe will undergo right knee surgery.

Advice: Uribe picked up a handful of saves at the outset of the year for Milwaukee before struggling to the point that he was demoted by the start of May to Triple-A Nashville. The hard-throwing 23-year-old righty is expected to undergo a surgical procedure in the coming days to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:02 am

  • Undergoing knee surgery
Uribe will undergo surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Uribe landed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville last week with the knee issue and the decision has been made to go under the knife. Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said the extent of the damage won't be known until the surgery is performed, but "it could just be a light cleanup." The hope is that Uribe will be able to return later this season, but more will be known following the operation. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:11 am

  • Fans seven in fourth win
Manaea (4-3) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over five-plus innings in a 2-1 victory over the Padres. He struck out seven.

Advice: The veteran southpaw did serve up a homer for the fifth straight start, a solo shot in the fifth inning by Jackson Merrill, but it was the only damage Manaea surrendered. It was a strong bounce-back effort after he'd been tagged for 11 earned runs in 9.1 frames over his prior two outings, and Manaea will take a 4.11 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 67:26 K:BB through 65.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week against the Rangers. • Serves up homer
Bednar allowed one earned run on one hit while striking out one Friday against the Rockies.

Advice: Bednar was called upon to preserve a 5-1 lead in the ninth inning. He retired the first two batters he faced without issue but then served up a solo home run to Charlie Blackmon. Bednar has now given up a home run in consecutive appearances, though the Pirates still won on both occasions. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:09 am

  • Sean Manaea strikes out seven in win
Sean Manaea allowed one earned run in five-plus innings of work on Friday in a 2-1 win over the Padres. He struck out seven and walked one.

Advice: This was a nice bounce-back for Manaea after a rough outing in London last weekend. He leaned on his two-seamer for a bevy of called strikes and whiffs as he crowded the Padres hitters all night. Their only hard-hit ball was Jackson Merrill’s impressive solo shot to center field through the rain. Still, Manaea is a true five-and-dive throwing fewer than six innings in five straight outings and in 10 of his 13 starts this season. Rotoworld Friday, 8:16 pm
