• Begins throwing off mound
May (elbow) has started throwing off a mound at the Dodgers' team facility in Arizona, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: May has been slowly working his way back from the surgery underwent on his right flexor tendon and UCL in July. The right-hander will slowly increase his workload on the mound before he'll likely throw live batting practice and ultimately go on an extended minor-league rehab assignment. The organization will likely be especially cautious in their approach to May's recovery and his return to the majors is currently projected to come around the All-Star break. • Launching throwing program
Kelly (shoulder) is set to begin his throwing program Monday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Kelly has been on the 15-day injured list since May 6 with a right shoulder strain and he will now take the first step towards making his return. The right-hander will likely need to build up his workload and even potentially make a trip to the minors for a rehab assignment. Depending on how his shoulder responds to the beginning of his throwing program, Kelly will receive a timetable for his return, which currently appears to be at least a week away at the earliest. • Scheduled for sim game
Miller (shoulder) is expected to throw a simulated game Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Miller continues to make progress in his recovery after being sent to the 15-day injured list April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation. He successfully completed a bullpen session Saturday, and as expected, he's now been given the green light to toss a sim game. Miller will likely be sent out on a rehab assignment later in the week, assuming all goes well Tuesday. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

  • Joe Ross departs game with back strain
Joe Ross left Monday’s game because of a strained lower back, according to the Brewers.

Advice: Definitely better than some of the alternatives. The Brewers are off Thursday, so if Ross feels better quickly, the team might not need to replace him in the rotation. If he does go on the IL, either Bradley Blalock or Tobias Myers could replace him in the rotation. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

  • Will require several rehab outings
Phillips (hamstring) is expected to make 2-to-3 rehab appearances before being activated from the 15-day injured list, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Stephen estimates that Phillips is about a week away from a return, though how the right-hander fares during his rehab outings will ultimately dictate his exact return date. He's been shut down since May 3 since suffering a right hamstring strain. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

  • Evan Phillips to soon begin rehab assignment
Evan Phillips will go on a rehab assignment before returning from the strained hamstring he suffered May 3.

Advice: Phillips will likely make 2-3 appearances in Triple-A. The first of those should come this week, and he should rejoin the Dodgers pen before the end of next week. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • Xander Bogaerts out with shoulder inflammation
The Padres are calling Xander Bogaerts’ injury left shoulder inflammation.

Advice: It’s an odd diagnosis, being that this was a sudden injury sustained while diving for a ball, but it’s what we’re left with after the Padres couldn’t initially find anything serious going on within the shoulder. He obviously was not included in the lineup for the second game of today’s doubleheader. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

  • Exits start early
Ross was removed from Monday's start against the Marlins after one scoreless inning due to back tightness, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: Ross was reportedly dealing with some back tightness before Monday's start, but he felt good enough to give it a go after warming up. However, his back tightened back up during a 15-pitch first inning, and he's been officially diagnosed with a low back strain. Jared Koenig was called upon out of the bullpen following the right-hander's departure and will likely be asked to eat up a few frames. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

  • Joe Ross leaves game after one inning
Joe Ross exited Monday’s game after the first inning with an undisclosed injury.

Advice: Jared Koenig replaced Ross against the Marlins. Assuming that this is an IL-type situation, perhaps Bradley Blalock could join the rotation. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
