    Advice: Alonso capped off the Mets' five-run 10th inning with a two-run blast off Robert Garcia, the first baseman's 18th home run of the campaign. He's riding a six-game hit streak, batting 8-for-24 (.333) with six runs and five RBI during that span. Alonso owns an .811 OPS with a 20.3 percent strikeout rate.     Rooker went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Angels.

    Advice: Rooker has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 8-for-26 (.308) with three homers in that span. He offers more power than speed -- with Tuesday's performance, he has 16 long balls and three steals across 72 contests this year.     Brent Rooker socked a dinger and stole a base on Tuesday evening as the Athletics triumphed over the visiting Angels.

    Advice: The 29-year-old slugger opened the scoring in the ballgame with his 405-foot (108.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Angels’ starter Jose Soriano in the fourth inning. Rooker also drew a walk in the fifth inning and swiped second base, but he was left stranded there.     Advice: Burger hit a solo home run in the fifth inning and added a single in the ninth. The 28-year-old hit .213 in both May and June but does have two multi-hit efforts and two home runs in his past five games.     Advice: Gorman hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and added a single in the sixth. He was mired in a 2-for-29 slump but opened July with his first home run since June 19 and first multi-hit effort since June 4.     Nolan Gorman went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

    Advice: Gorman’s home run was a 415-foot shot for his 17th of the season to go along with 41 RBIs. However, he also struck out twice and came into today with a 36.5 percent strikeout rate. In his last 35 games, Gorman is hitting just .177/.241/.411 with a 36.5 percent strikeout rate. However, he also has 10 home runs and five steals over that span, so if you are not in a batting average league or are punting the category, you can likely still roster Gorman.     Jake Burger went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Tuesday in the Marlins’ loss to the Red Sox.

    Advice: Burger was one of the few bright spots in this one as his fifth-inning solo shot off Red Sox starter Kutter Crawford was one of just three hits for Miami through six innings.   • Jordan Montgomery hits IL with knee inflammation
    Diamondbacks placed LHP Jordan Montgomery on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 29, with right knee inflammation.

    Advice: Arizona had to come up with something here since Montgomery badly needs to press the reset button on the metaphorical console. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters that injury occurred during a bullpen session over the weekend and he doesn’t expect it to be an extended absence. The 31-year-old southpaw’s Arizona debut has gone about as poorly as one could imagine with a bloated 6.44 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 45/23 K/BB ratio across 65 2/3 innings (13 starts).     The Diamondbacks placed Montgomery on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to June 29, due to right knee inflammation.

    Advice: Montgomery was tagged for eight runs (four earned) during his start Thursday against the Twins, though it's unclear if the injury played a role in those results. The veteran left-hander will be eligible to be reinstated for the final game before the All-Star break July 14 versus the Blue Jays, but a return after the Midsummer Classic likely more realistic.
