• Strikes out 11 in win
Burnes (4-2) earned the win Sunday against the Mariners, allowing one run on seven hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out 11.

Advice: Unlike his previous four outings where the Orioles scored a total of four runs, Burnes received five runs of support through the first three innings, allowing him to cruise to the victory. The increase in strikeouts was also a good sign for Burnes, who had tallied no more than six in his previous eight starts since accumulating 11 on Opening Day. Burnes will carry a 2.56 ERA and 1.04 WHIP into his next start, when he's slated to toe the rubber in a highly favorable matchup on the road against the White Sox. • Corbin Burnes fans 11 in defeating Mariners
Corbin Burnes fanned 11 while allowing one run in six innings Sunday as the Orioles bested the Mariners 6-3.

Advice: Burnes matched his season-high for strikeouts; he also fanned 11 on Opening Day. Oddly, he hasn’t struck out more than six in any of his other eight starts. Still, he’s been plenty successful in amassing a 2.56 ERA to date. The win today was his first since April 20. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:54 pm

  • Tosses quality start Saturday
Gausman came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The veteran right-hander cruised through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth and allowing all three of his runs. It was a solid bounce-back effort for Gausman after he got tagged for seven runs (six earned) in his last outing, and the quality start was his third of the season. He'll take a 4.89 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 43:11 K:BB through 42.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Detroit. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:34 pm

  • Kevin Gausman goes six innings in no-decision
Kevin Gausman allowed three runs with six strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Gausman had worked around four hits through five scoreless frames before the Rays would get to him in the sixth. Two base hits and a walk would load the bases with two outs. Amed Rosario knocked a single to plate two runs. José Caballero followed with a single to bring in one more before Gausman got out of the inning. He struck out six. The 33-year-old right-hander will take a 4.89 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and a 43/11 K/BB ratio across 42 1/3 innings into a start against the Tigers in Detroit on Thursday. Rotoworld Saturday, 2:56 pm

  • Tyler Anderson holds Rangers to two hits in win
Tyler Anderson limited the Rangers to one run and two hits over seven innings in the Angels’ 9-3 victory Friday.

Advice: Anderson gave up eight hard-hit balls tonight, yet just two proved troublesome. One was a homer off the bat of Jonah Heim. The other was a double. It’s kind of baffling how Anderson has a 2.72 ERA with weaker peripherals than teammates Reid Detmers (5.19 ERA) and Patrick Sandoval (5.00 ERA). If the Angels can get anything of value for him in trade, they really ought to go for it. Rotoworld Friday, 11:12 pm

  • Lasts five innings Friday
Montas gave up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out one over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Montas gave up a leadoff blast to Mookie Betts in the first inning and a two-run home run to Shohei Ohtani in the third. The Reds were able to erase that damage after Montas exited, but the Dodgers rallied in the late innings. Given the opponent, this was an acceptable start from the right-hander. He's still at a pedestrian 4.37 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 25:15 K:BB through 35 innings over eight starts this season. Montas' next start is projected to come at home versus the Padres, when he'll look for his first win since April 3. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:06 pm

  • Frankie Montas charged for three runs vs. Dodgers
Frankie Montas gave up three runs over five innings while not factoring into the decision against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Montas allowed just four hits, but two of those were homers by the superstar duo that is Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani. The former Dodger allowed three walks and also had just one strikeout, so it’s fair to say that he wasn’t exactly fooling the Los Angeles lineup even when they weren’t seeing hits drop. Montas has been shaky in his first year with the Reds, and his 4.37 ERA and 25/15 K/BB over 35 innings are pretty accurate descriptors of his 2024 campaign. Rotoworld Friday, 9:40 pm

  • Evens record Friday
Anderson (4-4) yielded a run on two hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Rangers.

Advice: The only blemish on Anderson's line was a solo shot by Jonah Heim in the second inning. The southpaw has won back-to-back starts after going 0-4 over his previous five outings. Despite what that losing streak may suggest, he registered a 4.08 ERA during that span, and Friday's start lowered his season ERA to 2.72 through 56.1 frames. Anderson's next start is currently projected to come in Houston next week. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:36 pm

  • Can't overcome rough first inning
Miller (3-4) took the loss Friday against the Orioles, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out one.

Advice: All of the damage against Miller came in the first inning, when the Orioles put up five runs before the right-hander could record an out. Miller would settle in and blank Baltimore over his final 4.1 frames, allowing just two more hits, though the Mariners couldn't climb out of the early hole in an eventual 9-2 defeat. The 24-year-old Miller has been solid this year overall, holding opponents to two runs or fewer in six of his nine starts. He sports a 3.08 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP and 52:16 K:BB across 52.2 innings this season. Miller is currently lined up for a tough road matchup with the Yankees in his next outing.
