• Abrams blasts 10th home run Thursday
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Abrams’ 10th of the season. He had slumped and missed time with shoulder soreness last week, but seemed unbothered on Thursday. Abrams continues to show more power than he did last year as his .211 ISO is a lot better than the .167 ISO he had last year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:13 pm

Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters Thursday that Acuña will stay in Los Angeles for “a month or more” at the outset of his rehabilitation process, which is expected to carry into the early portion of next year. • Sean Murphy back in lineup Thursday vs. Nationals
Sean Murphy (elbow) is back in the lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Nationals.

Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging sign to see Murphy back handling the catching duties following a brief one-game absence after being hit by a pitch on the right elbow during the late stages of Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox. The 29-year-old backstop has been snake-bitten by injuries this season, but managed to escape his most incident with nothing more than a nasty looking bruise. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:44 pm

  • Returns to Atlanta lineup
Murphy (elbow) will start at catcher and bat sixth in Thursday's game versus the Nationals.

Advice: Murphy had to depart Tuesday's game against the Red Sox after being struck on the right elbow by a pitch and was then held out of action Wednesday. It will be just a one-game absence for Atlanta's top catcher, though, as he and his teammates take on Mitchell Parker and the Nationals on Thursday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:37 pm

  • Day off amid power outage
LeMahieu is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Twins.

  • Dazzles in fourth win
Severino (4-2) picked up the win in Wednesday's 9-1 rout of the Nationals, allowing one run on seven hits over eight innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander took a shutout into the eighth inning before three straight singles to lead off the frame finally got Washington on the board. Severino hadn't even allowed a runner to reach second base prior to that, and he left the mound having thrown an efficient 92 pitches (62 strikes). The quality start was his fifth of the year, and he'll take a 3.25 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 58:27 K:BB through 72 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Marlins. It was an impressive road trip for the 30-year-old Candelario, who's now gone 9-for-24 (.375) with three extra-base hits in his last five games. Overall, he's slashing .236/.304/.443 with 25 RBI and 22 runs scored through 224 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:44 pm

The lone tally against him came on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Joey Gallo in the eighth inning. Severino generated nine swings and misses on 92 pitches in the contest, posting a CSW of 26 percent. • Jeimer Candelario homers, steals two bases in win
Jeimer Candelario blasted a two-run homer and also stole a pair of bases on Wednesday in the Reds’ comeback victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Candelario clobbered a two-run homer off Rockies starter Dakota Hudson in the third inning before recording his 700th career hit in the fifth inning of this one as he put together one of his strongest performances of the year on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field. His multi-steal performance was the first of his career and he had just 15 career stolen bases across 799 contests in the majors since 2016. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:28 pm
