• Shea Langeliers homers, steals bag in victory
Shea Langeliers homered and stole a base in the Athletics’ 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Langeliers isn’t exactly known for his speed, but he was able to procure his third steal of the season. The power is a little more readily apparent, and he hit one of three homers in the ninth inning for the A’s to give him 15 on the year and Oakland an 8-4 lead. Langeliers will never be a big helper in the average category, but there just might be enough run-production to make him a starting fantasy catcher someday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:19 pm
  • Slade Cecconi gives up three over four vs. A’s
Slade Cecconi gave up three runs in four innings with seven strikeouts against the A’s on Friday while picking up no decision.

Advice: Cecconi was able to strike out seven, but it’s another mediocre outing in a year where the 25-year-old has had plenty of them. The 25-year-old allowed two runs in the third and another in the fourth before being pulled, and Cecconi’s ERA is now at 5.81 for the season. He absolutely should not be considered as a streaming option for Thursday’s scheduled bout against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:19 pm
  • JP Sears bounced back with QS against D-Backs
JP Sears allowed three runs over six innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Sears was atrocious against the Twins on Saturday while allowing nine hits and eight runs in 1 1/3 innings. He wasn’t perfect Friday, but calling this an improvement is quite the understatement. The southpaw struck out six, and he held the D-Backs to just two runs through five before a Lourdes Gurriel Jack to tie the game in the sixth and keep Sears from picking up the win. The outing lowers his ERA to an even 5.00, and he’ll look to build on this start when he faces the Angels on Thursday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:19 pm

  • Matt Chapman homers, steals base in victory
Matt Chapman stole a base and hit a two-run homer in a win for the Giants on Friday over the Dodgers.

Advice: Chapman hit a two-run homer off Daniel Hudson for his 10th homer of the season, and he stole his seventh bag of the year for good measure. The 31-year-old has been a mild disappointment thus far in 2024 — depending on expectations, of course — with a .235/.316/.399 slash, but the homers and steals have help balance things out a bit. • Brett Wisely hits walk-off homer against Dodgers
Brett Wisely hit a walk-off two-run homer against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Baseball can be funny. Wisely hit a ball that just went foul that the Giants challenged went fair, and instead of what might have been a double, he ends up with a walk-off blast off Blake Treinen. Wisely also singled in this contest, and he’s been a strong performer for the Giants as seen in a slash of .304/.333/.461 with three homers and 14 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm

  • Camilo Doval blows save, still gets win vs. LAD
Camilo Doval gave up a run and blew a save Friday, but picked up the win against the Dodgers.

Advice: Doval gets the win because the stat is flawless and baseball is a fair and just sport. The right-hander gave up a triple to James Outman, and a sac fly from Jason Heyward tied the game at 3-3. That’s the third blown save of the year for Doval, who has provided more good than bad for fantasy managers in 2024 despite his 4.55 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm
  • Kyle Isbel goes 2-for-4, homers against Guardians
Kyle Isbel went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk against the Guardians on Friday.

Advice: After a very quiet April and May, Isbel has stepped it up with a .308/.339/.558 line this month. He’s not doing much running (though he did try and fail on a steal attempt tonight), so there still isn’t currently much reason to consider him in mixed leagues, Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:33 pm

  • Jeff McNeil gets right with three hits, home run
Jeff McNeil went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in the Mets’ 7-2 win over the Astros on Friday.

Advice: McNeil has been waiting all season for a game like this. The home run was his first at Citi Field since September 24th of last year and oddly his first long ball this season outside the state of Ohio. The signs of life are encouraging, but McNeil’s batting average still sits at a lowly .221. Even a minor hot streak would make him worth a look in deeper leagues since the Mets continue to start him every day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:22 pm

  • Yordan Alvarez doubles twice in loss
Yordan Alvarez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, and a run scored on Friday against the Mets.

Advice: Alvarez was on base four times in this one as the Mets just could not figure him out. All three of his balls in play were hit at least 108.9 MPH as his OPS has drifted all the way back up to .892, 11th highest in the league. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm
