      Brandon Nimmo is out of Monday’s lineup after suffering a cut on his forehead when he fell in his hotel room last night.

      Nimmo is absent from Monday's lineup against the Nationals due to a laceration on his forehead, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

      Advice: Nimmo suffered the cut when he slipped and fell in his hotel room Sunday night in Washington, D.C.       The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal said “Tanner Scott is a popular name on the trade market” and “the Marlins are virtually certain to trade” him at the deadline.

      Advice: Rosenthal reported that “the Miami Marlins want a lot for their left-handed closer,” but they do expect to get it; however, it’s expected that Scott will not take over a closer’s role if he were traded to a contender. His strikeout-to-walk rate is at a career-low level and that command may keep him in a high-leverage shared role, facing mainly left-handed hitters.       Advice: Walker ignited the scoring in the fourth with an RBI base knock and later extended Arizona's lead with another RBI single in the seventh. It was his seventh game in June with multiple hits and his fifth game of the year with a trio of base knocks. Walker has been a steady source of run production for the Diamondbacks this season, slashing .256/.330/.472 with 17 homers, 53 RBI, 49 runs and a 33:88 BB:K in 358 plate appearances.       Smith started at shortstop and went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Sunday's 11-2 win over Baltimore.

      Advice: Smith got the start at shortstop with Corey Seager (wrist) day-to-day. Seager was hit by a pitch during Saturday's game and, although X-rays came back negative, took a seat for the series finale against the Orioles. The Rangers are off Monday, giving Seager another 24 hours of healing, before a three-game set against the Padres. Once Seager is deemed healthy enough to return to shortstop, Smith will head back to third base, where he will continue to fill in for the injured Josh Jung (wrist), who may be back in the lineup soon, though the team is still evaluating him.       Advice: Bregman led off the fourth inning with a double and came around to score, accounting for most of his production.       Paxton (7-2) allowed nine runs on 12 hits and two walks over four innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Giants.

      Advice: Paxton gave up four runs through three frames before the Giants piled on with a five-run fourth inning. The veteran southpaw had a very odd month of June; he gave up six earned runs in 1.2 innings against the Pirates on June 5 but allowed just two total runs over his next three outings before Sunday's unraveling.
