      Paul Sewald pitched a clean ninth inning to earn the save against the Mets on Sunday. He struck out one batter.

      Advice: Sewald seems to relish the opportunity to close games against the organization that gave up on him and did so on back-to-back days this weekend.       Neris earned a save against the Reds on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over one inning.

      Advice: Neris gave up a one-out single in the ninth inning but was able to wrap up his seventh save. The right-hander had allowed a run in each of his previous two outings, so this was a promising frame for him. The save was his first since May 4.     • Neris picks up seventh save Saturday
      Hector Neris tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Reds on Saturday.

      Advice: The save was Neris’ seventh of the season. No one is going to confuse Neris with a shutdown closer. Even with the two strikeouts and no walks on Saturday, he has a SO:BB of 18:15 in 21 innings this season. Neris’ ERA is 3.00 but his xFIP is 5.10. He’s valuable in fantasy as long as he’s getting saves for the Cubs, but he’s shaky and that could catch up to him sooner rather than later. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:39 pm
       
    • Cruises to victory Saturday
      Miller (5-5) earned the win over the Angels on Saturday, allowing three hits and issuing one walk while striking out nine batters over six innings.

      Advice: The score was close early on, but a four-run fourth inning for Seattle put Miller on cruise control. The right-hander racked up 13 whiffs en route to his nine punchouts, which tied his second-highest total of the season. Miller has earned the win in each of his last two starts following a stretch of six outings between April 24 and May 22 during which he went 0-4. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:38 pm
       
    • Miller strikes out nine in win Saturday
      Bryce Miller threw six shutout innings and picked up the win in the Mariners’ 9-0 victory over the Angels on Saturday.

      Advice: The win was Miller’s fifth of the season. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out nine. Miller’s ERA is now 3.18 on the season. After losing three straight decisions, he’s now won his last two starts. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road next week. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:25 pm

      Bibee (4-1) allowed a run on three hits and a walk over 6.1 innings Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Bibee dominated in six shutout frames before Washington finally pushed home a run in the seventh. He's turned in three straight quality starts, dropping his season ERA from 4.34 to 3.74 during that span. The 25-year-old righty has allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his first 12 starts. He'll carry a 69:18 K:BB into his next start, which is expected to be at home against the Royals next week. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:27 pm
       
    • Tanner Bibee blazes past Nationals for win
      Tanner Bibee allowed one earned run across 6 ⅓ innings in a 7-1 win over the Nationals on Friday. He struck out seven and walked one.

      Advice: This was a tremendous start for Bibee mostly fueled by increased fastball velocity. His heater ticked up to 98 MPH and averaged 95.5 MPH, but tailed off in the seventh inning as the Nationals started to get around on him. This was the second time in three starts Bibee’s fastball averaged at least 95.5 MPH and keeping the velocity on that pitch up is the key to his success. Rotoworld Friday, 6:40 pm
       
    • Héctor Neris allows run in ninth
      Brought in with the Cubs down one in the top of the ninth, Héctor Neris gave up a run and two hits Friday against the Reds.

      Advice: It’s the second straight outing in which Neris has allowed a run, and it proved to be a pretty big run after the Cubs scored once in the bottom of the ninth. Neris’s peripherals are still awful — he has a 16/15 K/BB in 20 innings — but so far, his only two blown saves haven’t cost the Cubs (the team won both games). He’ll probably need a costly blown save before the Cubs turn things over to Mark Leiter Jr. Rotoworld Friday, 2:40 pm

      Kirby did not factor into the decision in a win over the Astros on Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits over six innings while striking out eight.

      Advice: Kirby retired the first eight batters he faced to open the contest and didn't allow an extra-base hit over his six innings of work. The right-hander induced 15 swings and misses on the night en route to posting his highest strikeout total in his last six starts. He's now gone six or more innings in four consecutive outings, though he's posted quality starts in only two of those appearances. Kirby has also walked only two batters over six starts in May.
